*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

I know how it feels. You miss one day on this thread and you get lost :D
There're many other options for navigation btw, with local storing or else (garmin, route66, tomtom etc.). I like Nokia's maps, but not everyone does.

All WE need is a MediaNet plan...but I find myself wondering how AT&T will market it. I forget how they did the E62, but these days anything with a QWERTY they consider to be a PDA, and require the PDA data plans. If they did something like that on the E71, that might hurt things a bit.

I'm guessing you don't want a data plan. I'm the same. I just use wifi. As far as your questions go..

1. Data (through wifi for me)
2. You can turn a-gps off, and not use any data
3. No idea. I use Slick + wifi

I don't necessarily...I was merely answering Topy's question. Similarly, I'm talking about subsidized phones, which I'm not sure the Tube or the N96 will be, which places them in a different category in North America. Most people still buy subsidized phones and I'm sure the Iphone will still sell through carriers and not unlocked versions.

My E71 does not include Spanish. I would like to know what is the product code of a unit with Spanish installed (I think it EURO1 Product Code) so I can install it.

Could anybody help me

Thanks

Maybe, I know Ive seen alot of complaints about it not being bright enough. I keep mine as bright as it will go and its just adequate. Id like it to get about 25% brighter.

I wish I could get the N82 camera in something thin and with a QWERTY. I just read a review on the E66 and they said the camera is terrible. I know its a business oriented device but a good camera at the least would have been nice.

Nice vid. Except he tried to say the camera autofocuses in less than a second when he was just using the dpad to take the pic. I don't think he knew that "T" would start the autofocus process so he unknowingly was taking pics without the autofocus engaging.

What I've taken away from vidoes and pics of the E71 is that the QWERTY keypad button style looks very similar to that used in the E70. I really liked that keyboard and could type very well on it. They keys were right next to each other and bumped the same way. I think I'm really going to like this keyboard. Can't wait for it to start selling.

I seriously doubt that. But again, not to start a religious discussion. I have had S60s and BB, I am more productive with my BB, you may be more productive with S60.

I never was able to find a VPN solution to access servers on my company network that behind our sonicwall firewall. I also was never able to find a VPN solution for my BB as well. But the BES setup on a BB allows me to access every server behind the firewall thru the BES, no VPN needed. Its hard for me to be productive without access to every server in my network.

On my BB I can handle mail only once, file it and it done. I cant do that using M4E on my S60 devices.

I am sure you can site an examples of how you use your phone more productively on S60. I am not saying the BB platform is perfect. But I am probably more of a pure business user than most here. I use my phones 99% for biz and 1% for fun.

Did you try the same SIM into some other phone? Trying to see if this is phone problem or the carrier?

Hi, Everyone

I havn't been here lately,

Could Someone please tell me whats the current Cheapest Price for the "U.S 3G version of Nokia E71"

The last time I check was $420+T&S from NewEgg months ago

Thanks

I agree with you somewhat, but the improvements to the camera and the newer OS make the E72 look really good to me. The poor performance of the E71-2 camera is its biggest flaw, in my opinion.

I'm really looking forward to getting an E72. With that said, I won't be an early adopter. I'll wait a few months for the price to come down.
