*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

Finally somebody's talking about the GPS! All the long, detailed reviews and videos and very little mention about how good/bad
the GPS is. I travel a lot, and often to new places, so this could be a real plus for me!

Anyone else care to tell us your experience?

still no word of tracking info, so must mean its not shipped then. glad it all worked out much smoother for you guys. hopefully i can just get it by the end of the week so i wont have to wait for a long weekend layover.

this is also why i prefer to order with reputable carriers like plemix, sntraders or importgsm. those ares are unbeatable at promptness of shipping. 36hrs is about standard like you said (if you do overnight shipping)

sorry I wrote it in a hurry
basicly I put my sim, everything seems to work fine was just wondering if I had to do any extra setup for it to work to the best of it's ability I guess you could say.

With my other phone I went on the nokia configurator where it sent me settings by txt msg. Since my phone was not in the list of the online config utility I was wondering if I had anything to do now or if all the settings were on my sim card and were automatically transferred on the new phone

Can anyone post the confirmation of AT&T picking up this phone?

Don't even post BGR link..

I want something from the AT&T site or some type of FCC filings whatever!!

A friend told me last week that he spoke to a AT&T rep at a store and confirmed him AT&T will launch the N95 8GB on August..

Source.. Source.. Source.. OFFICIAL!!!

I've only toured four countries in Europe and only one time, but I kept my eye out for cell phones in use and in the stores and agree that nokia devices were in the def majority, and communicators I saw were being used by the business types. This was a couple of months before the release of the e90. I rode alot of public transit and commies were in evidence everywhere. One very large open air mall I went to in Munich had 3 t-mobile corp stores. Of course Germany is the t-mo mothership. Even the payphones are t-mobile.

i think those are the free pouch that comes with it...

the white look nice in these photos...

I think I made a mistake purchasing this BB without playing with it first. The e71 is much better in terms of call quality/browser speed/battery life. I wish I hadn't sold my e71!!

NOW someone understands what I went thru during tech support for the BB platform ... a VERY demanding user that MUST have his BB working at ALL times and a resolution, yesterday!

I've not come across 'sonicwall firewall'; but are you talking about a PBX setup? Cisco I think has VPN client on BB, I know Avaya does, and there supposedly is another. You might have to REALLY dig to see if the SIP on your BB8820 will implement with the 'sonicwall firewall' you have for VoIP and get PBX working. Also the Telecom techs might not like the extra work, thats for sure. If you've got all the contacts & info willing to help you get it working, maybe an email to RIM would help you get a solution working.

I'm considering the Nokia E71 due to the breadth of consumer applications (I'd like the Facebook on S60 to debut soon), and games, along with better music control. However, with the Bold supporting so much and it's 3G HSDPA appeal (along with DIVX support) it's possible 2008 will give the BB's a HUGE uprise in more consumer focused apps than EVER before.

I don't know of any that are that small that have a 3.5mm jack, though I can hope though right?

No, I hate BB's and BES. It really does not to much, Exchange is the real power house in the setup. BES is just a pass through as far as i am concerned, the only good thing about BES is that I can remotely lock and send passwords as well as IT policies but besides that it dosent do much.
