*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

Not only that but you get all the extra added bloatware. I really can't think of an instance where a carrier subsidized phone is a good deal, unless it's the only way one can afford it. I prefer factory fresh and unlocked. Thankyou. :2thumbs:

I have two yahoo email addresses through my isp (@rogers.com addresses) and i have them both forwarded to my hosted exchange account and it works great. I have been doing this for over 2 years as well and love the set up. Once you use the exchange server you will never go back.

Cant tell you the amount of times i have had to hard reset a phone while away from my pc and still been able to set up and resync all of my contacts, emails and calendar info in under 10 min

That was the number one holdup on the release of the Bold...battery life with the 3G chip set. Apparently RIM has gotten the two to co-exist, or at least that's what they said in a statement I read.

I've survived without 3G for a long time, so I didnt see reason to wait for NAM edition. I will pick that up when by end of August. This phone is just too damn good!

Yea, I extensively use Emails, and now BB messenger . It's one thing that I'll loose if I get the E71. I think I'm gona sit down and do a "pros/cons" list.

It's the same as the E71 where the inside ring of the dpad slowly "breathes" in standby mode so you know the phone is on since it's all blacked out. It does a double flash when there is a missed call or message.

EXTENSIVE delays, and crippled. Not marketed well enough either. However it wasn't think - not really compared to what Cingular was offering at that time, stereo speakers, great color screen & 2MP camera with FLash.

Why can't Nokia make a flipphone like the N75 with WiFi?!

I'm really cnosidering an S60 phone, but I want WiFi, GPS, and NA 3G HSDPA as well. I don't want what everyone else has, the N95. I'm considering the N81 but so many ppl want so much for it, and state the slider is flimsy. So this brings me to the E71. The BB Bold which is incredible will costs way too much from my estimations via Rogers and its' highly glossy - something I'm not liking much with my K850i although light vinegar/water solution on paper towel or glass lense cleaner does the trick perfectly and it disinfects too ;).

sorry, should of been more explicit. I'm aware of the windows live sis files floating around on the net. I was hoping to this get the app from nokia download!. Reason being if I manually intall the program 1:dep6 2:windows live
3:share online upgrade, it will not allow me to upgrade the share online program. I guess the title to my question should be "how can I upgrade the share online app after latest firmware upgrade?" with newest firmware you cannot do this and you will lose your windows live hotmail acct. from your messaging folder.

i picked up mine over the weekend, great device !!
one issue came up yesterday, and i am hoping you can help. the volume keys on the right seem to be disabled some how, i cannot adjust volume.

I went back to the factory settings but still not working....any thoughts?
I am hoping this is a minor thing....

The integration of the S60 VoIP client is definitely one of its advantages over most other phones. Bring up a contact, press call and choice internet call or phone call. It is really very slick and to not have this feature working correctly would be a PITB.
