*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

I'm most likely going to get this device, but as it stands, I'm going to be making some compromises in the e-mail department compared to say the Bold or the HP 910.

The E71 is just so good looking ..... :hehehe:

Do you need it to be picked up by AT&T? The E71-2 is clearly designed to work with AT&T's 3G ... just buy it unlocked and unbranded, and use it with your AT&T SIM card.

Fanboys prefer flash over good design and great button placement.

That's why people tell me that my N82 looks like a free phone. When I tell them how much I paid they just burst out laughing!

I appreciate the ergonomics, compactness, and port placement.... But the the masses don't care about that. If it impresses, it must be good!

Based on Rose's response, all of the phones she is selling have chinese characters. May be the new stock may not have it, check with her before purchasing one.

N75 was a flop because it didn't run feature pack 1 and had slower cpu and no ram. And it was delayed for so long that it was outdated by the time it was released. And some crippling took place. Att didn't and still doesn't market s60 as a smartphone OS and its open capabilities, which i guess i don't expect them to do. But open 3rd party apps is exactly what makes s60 good. So all that set up for failure.

An e71 might have a better chance cause its keyboard, formfactor and camera. N78 has a chance cause of its camera and feature pack 2 fancy pretty menus.

Never tried hard reset....I'm not a big user of Nokia Maps anyways, but will probably just not use it until a firmware update is in place. I don't want the hassle of reinstalling everything. Does anyone know if E71 has the ability of updating firmware without erasing all programs and information like the N82?

The picture on the top of this page looks real. I can see this design making the final cut, hopefully that means there will be a pre production unit on my desk real soon.....

Anything that looks like an E51 but nicer is cool in my book.

What on earth are you talking about? Unless their hosting provider was having temporary issues or you've got malware on your computer.. Everything looks normal to me. Not that I'd pay that price for the phone. :p

Drakkhen - I would agree with you with regards to build quality of Blackberry's. The curve was certainly the best to date but all of their devices are configured around cheap plastic. The older blackberrries had a much higher quality of plastic but as you can imagine manufacturer's always want to cut cost. On the blackberry cost is defiitely taken away from the structue of the units. The Bold will look good but as soon as you get it in your hands it will feel cheap. This is one area that Nokia E-Series accels above all else. They truely make a world class business device. The use of metal sets it apart. I loved the construction of the E61i, it was just too wide for me. The E71 sounds so promising for me due to the size, material construction and that fact that it has BB connect make it a winner for me. If blackberry was smart they could offer a premium business line version of the Bold by offering the phone body in metal. That would change things a bit.

So who's jumping ship to the iPhone and say screw the E71 blame Nokia for not releasing the E71 in time..

So is the new upcoming iPhone really a threat to the E71?

I heard from a friend of mine that youtube had change their flash settings upgrade maybe..

Now that makes our Flash Lite 3 useless..

Well who cares.. We still have Mobitubia and emtube..

Yes..it's got everything I need (almost) too, but when are they going to release this thing   Ok, I've gotta calm down...after all it's just a phone :D
