*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

I was never a BB fan until I had the Curve. I was pleasantly surprised of the RF and call quality of the Curve. But it got boring for me and I ended up getting the E61i. You can do alot more with the Symbian OS. But I don't rely on emails, so that's why it's an easy decision for me. I think you'll have to decide on what suits you the best, as oppose to the fun factor.
Isn't the Bold coming out to Rogers pretty soon?

IF 5250 is as much fun as a 3270 Terminal Emu session then that app you have on your BB is stable, effective, if not pricey as well. Now I see where you're coming from. TBH, I don't think there are ANY MF emu apps for S60. So you're going Bold! And it'll increase freedom from office because if you wanna enjoy time with family you can troubleshoot and make a call simultaneously to get things done or have one of the remote guys on shift to get it done. I'll be spying on your situations on the Bold from time to time. ;) just to learn a few things.

I'm still going for the E71-2 Grey.

What's the problem?

To initialize, you first have to use the "add bluetooth device" option in the general bluetooth menu. Then from there it should detect your phone (have your E71 BT on and visible to all devices) and connect with a keycode.

Once you go through the menus, it'll set up iSync and Modem (tethering if you have a data plan) for you, then you can use those two options to sync and connect.

Make sure you install the E71 iSync plugin BEFORE you do any of this.
Do a quick google search and you'll find the download dmg file.

Hope that helps.

Do you guys have any problems having a smartphone without a QWERTY? I would think it really hampers the ability of the device, especially when it comes to entry that are not dictionary works, like web addresses, email addresses, names, addresses, etc. The E51 looks like a nice device, but no keyboard is a showstopper (I think).

What are the basic differences between the E51 and E65? They look pretty similar to me.

The CPU speed may not actually play a great role in determining which one is faster AFA web browsing is concerned here, because of the differences in the OS...

S60 has always been using a lower speed CPU, but is never that behind as far as OS menu speed and execution in general is concerned...

and speed will have to judged in what criteria? menu speed? opening of application?

I found the camera to be of SAME quality as in E90.

# E71-1 Quad-band EGSM 850/900/1800/1900, WCDMA 900/2100 HSDPA
# E71-2 Quad-band EGSM 850/900/1800/1900, WCDMA 850/1900 HSDPA
# E71-3 Quad-band EGSM 850/900/1800/1900, WCDMA 850/2100 HSDPA

Those are all correct from the spec sheet.

-1 is the European/Asian Version. European carriers are going to start using 900 3G too.
-2 is the North American Version
-3 is the Australian Market like the 6120 or E51.

Sorry T-Mobile USA.

thats what i thought when i saw it. i noticed hes from san diego like me. i just happened to check craigslist and what do you know there it is 400 and has a phone number. i called him and actually talked to the guy. im suppose to meet him later today to check it out

When I power on my E71, or insert the micro SD card, I get a message saying installing app. After a couple of seconds, I get a message saying something like: "unable to Install application, go to program manager to install"
When I check with program manager, all apps seems to be installed OK. Is there anybody out there having an idea how to check witch app. that gives me the message? Maybe some log file to check? I would not like to uninstall one app after the other just to see when the message disappear.
