Nokia's Intellisync Mobile Suite is intended to do exactly that, it appears. However, where RIM offers both BES and the light-version Blackberry Professional, Nokia markets the four components separately, so smaller companies could buy just the Wireless E-mail component, for example. The interesting part is that Nokia claims their suite will work with Windows Mobile, PalmOS, and BB devices as well as S60 (smart considering Nokia's minimal market penetration on both the hardware and software side). That's why I'm interested in taking it for a spin...a do-everything solution that will handle a variety of devices has a certain appeal.

However, like Apple, Nokia started as B2C, so they've got about as tough a road. How often do you see Apple servers, ya know?

1. I feel like the menu icons are childish, is there a way to change them back to look like the classic s60 icons? - Like those of the e90 or e61i?

2. How is the chrome durability thus far, does it scratch easily like the back of the ipod? Any cracking?

3. How is the weightiness of the device? - i like a heavy device, however there are conflicting reports - some are saying its too light, others say there is a nice weight in your hand. For example i loved the weight of the e61i.

4. Any creaking of the keys? - when i had my e51 for a while - the keys creaked i couldn't stand it.

It depends on what you're planning to do with the service. If you're just checking emails or browsing, it's may not be a big deal. If you're trying to use the SIP client and make voip calls over edge, I'm thinking it won't work too well.

Same thing with tethering,,, it works great on 3g.. slow as dialup on edge.

If you're used to 3g data and get good 3g service levels, you likely won't want to switch back to edge.
