*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

Yes you can tether to your laptop right out of the box with built in windows xp drivers. Or just install nokia pc suite and it connects your tether connection with one click. Nokia pc suite software is very good and will work perfectly, plus you're gonna want it installed for when you start installing apps to your phone. It installs apps very easily.

For the average phone consumer, it was thick, it had a "complicated" OS, and Nokia and Cingular didn't market it good enough. It was crippled and delayed by Cingular at the time...constant delays...it also didn't help that the N95 came out running FP1 for those who "collect" S60 phones. :2thumbs:

Where are you getting a case? We discussed that a few pages back, how hard it is to find good cases for Nokias. Just curious. I plan to "case" mine too but unless Nokia actually carries one, I have no idea where to find it.

I dont think Apple's products are substandard. Right now the iPhone is certainly not as technically advanced as much of the competition (or upcoming competition), but perhaps the technical lackings are not that important to the "dumb masses". I dont have any desire to have an iPhone, however, I sure am not going to knock a successful company with a very successful product. I think in the end, Apple's entry into the smartphone market has helped everyone make better products.

I don't think he was referring to you personally as a geek. He was basically differentiating the needs of two very different types of users. You have the execs and such, whose only purpose of owning a handheld device is to get messages simply and without much hassle.

Then, you have the "geeks" who like fiddling around with their devices and installing software and such.

Calling yourself a "businessman" which in my opinion is quite a broad description as it can be applied to almost anyone doesn't really doesn't justify any amount of quantifiable experience. Your business may or may not have the same needs as mine.

It's basically a comparison between a Toyota Corolla driver and an Audi A4 Driver...

have any of the users that have had there e71 for a while now had a problem with dust getting under the screen? Mines got a few tiny bits and its driving me nuts. Is there a assembly guide out there so I can clear it outta there?

I pay $20/year for a yahoo plus acct. One of the benefits is they will forward your incoming mail to any address. I have it come to my exchng server and M4E picks it up there. Full size, no half a mail then retrieve the other half. Been using this service for over two years and it has never gone down or failed me yet. I love it. :2thumbs:

Why would you want to do that? The devices need to be paired with the phone before you can use them together, and additional profiles shouldn't consume any more energy than just one would.

thats weird because i havent noticed this at all on any of my previous s60 phones. i just want to know whether its intended (and other people have this too) or if my phone is messed up.
