*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

oh i didnt know the n78 had something similar. is it the d pad or the entire backlight in general that lights up?

yeah i think he screwed up and those pics he was taking were not auto focused at all.

E71 is running FP1 where the E71x is running FP2.

You can strip out the crap software that Att installs which will essentially get you a clean phone. There are some threads here which show you how to do that.

Wirelessly posted (Nokia E71: Mozilla/5.0 (SymbianOS/9.2; U; Series60/3.1 NokiaE71-1/100.07.76; Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 ) AppleWebKit/413 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/413)

manual settings though right? I have them down as well just lazy to set it up...

:furious: Why couldn't Engadgetmobile put a dime or something next to the phone so we could get a sense of the size of the screen or the phone.

I'm definitely gona pick it up if its $199 CAD. E71 will be introducing at $500+ and will take a while to drop in price.

I'm just reading up on their mobileme service.

Its all good for you.. We know the fact that your gonna get the US 3G anyways when it comes out..

So come on post up some unboxing pics.. and comparison to your BJ2.

never mind, as long as i get MIF...

and i always do!!! :clapping:

but i am sooo happy with this features: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

Speaker dependent and speaker independent voice dialling (SDND, SIND)

And as a Canadian, it will also depend on the price I will have to pay for data. Rogers/Fido have specific WM/BB/non-smartphone data plans, it will be interesting to see where the E71 lands in terms of data "eligibility".

That's great to hear. I've owned alot of Nokia's and they've always had a call quality issue. I had the BB 8310 and the RF and call quality was superb! I was pleasantly surprised because I not really into BB's.

Jonty, do you use a BT headset for talking? If so, how's the call quality?

Posted in an earlier specific thread, but I figured maybe the general thread might show me some love:

SmartConnect doesn't work for me unless I have explicitly done the WLAN application->Start browsing using WLAN dance. I've set WLAN scan in the Nokia WLAN options to yes and scan every minute (I don't know if that helps or hinders).

I'm going to try and reinstall it, but is there something else which could be getting in the way?

Alright, reinstalled and same thing as before. Oh and here's the interesting thing: it automatically connects to my wireless network (or whichever is in range and already logged into my SmartConnect group) if I reboot the phone. lolwut?
