*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

No problem here either.
Running MFE and constantly staying connected, also medium apps usage, the battery lasted about 3 days.
I'm now gonna experiment on not leaving MFE connected al the time.

Switching from 3g to GSM is usually also a big battery saver.

Wirelessly posted (Blackberry 8320: Opera/9.50 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/4.1.11355/308; U; en))

I have a feeling SE will get its share of buyers this year due to some refreshing designs.

Tell me about it. Was one cool device and it was no wonder it was most sold Nokia smartphone when it came out. Too bad that Nokia wasent not that keen updating that device thought they might have learned something at least some of the devices are getting some real updates now days.

About the silent ring when flipping the device...is that really a feature available for the E71? I haven't read up on anything related to that besides the FlipSilent app which may not be compatible with the E71 since it doesn't have an accelerometer.

yeah whatever that means. i thought nokia never went backwards in feature packs. so they can add the good stuff to a FP1 phone, then why not update our n95's!!!

I got tired of waiting and saw an n810 at microcenter for a decent price, so I picked it up. Nice device and practically a phone..

I'll probably end up carrying both an e71 and n810. :p

Given that they had N95, N82, E65, and E61i there also, I expect they'll sell the E71 whenever it makes it to the us.

The new berry offering looks very good and does seem to bridge some of the gaps on critics. Now if only SIP would be built in and Sling media would release a BB version...... I will definitely get the new BB, no question there, it fits my business needs perfectly. I will probably get an E71 as well, but would be way more inclined to get one if it were available BEFORE the BB.

They can hire me then. I'm an expert on multiple phone platforms, enterprise deployments, corporate interoperability, and all sorts of other big-sounding industry buzzwords. And I'll be HAPPY to evaluate the E71 and tell them how best to market it here.

Actually, my first impression is direct B2B to enterprise consumers would be their best marketing option, and package it with the Intellisync Server infrastructure along with some training. Come to think of it, I'd like to eval the server-side Intellisync stuff too, and see how it compares to the BB servers and Exchange 2007's push/management functions.

Anyway, if they can get it into people's hands that way, it'd be a really good start.

I lost my patience & ordered N95-3  Even if they announce on Monday, it won't be available for 2-3 weeks & I don't expect them to release NAM 3G at the same time. It might take a good month or two before we actually see it.

Well, my experience with BB is the build is not great. My curve squeaks on the sides and feels cheap and hollow...by comparison, when I used the E51 (or any E-series for that matter), the thing felt solid and sturdy.....don't know about the 8800 series though as I've only used 8700, pearl, curve...

More productive? That's arguable for another thread but I HIGHLY doubt it. Nokia's sales numbers have only risen 2% worldwide this past qtr vs last years for the same period. RIM has increased by more than double! Considering more consumers are buying BlackBerry's and corporate users STILL make up 56% of RIM's hardware sales; I'm willing to bet trend for productivity is going RIM's way.

Now I don't expect the E71 NAM to debut until August but September is WAY too long. If the BOLD ships before then, and most likely it will I think the more ppl waiting for the E71 get their hands on teh Bold and try it for 5mins it'll seal the deal for them to go BOld. Maybe even the HP iPaq 910 will do the same.
