*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

Also of note:

* Some applications are designed & coded specifically for the E90 to take advantage of the larger inner screen; I don't think its a necessity.
* If video recording and that HUGE large screen (U have good eyesight) are not
important to you, I see no reason for getting the E90: OTHER than the hunt-&-Peck (finger poking) typing speeds which may or may not be faster.
* I don't think E90 is N-Gage compatible either.

* E-71 does have WiFi 802.11 B & G. Sweetness!

You deleted the message from the Outgoing folder? If you haven't, then the icon will remain.

Most of the time that something stays in the Outgoing folder it is because of some kind of issue and the message will be marked to send later. In this case, you have cancelled sending it, but the message is probably still there and the icon is still reminding you.

This is what I would suppose based on what you've said.

:-)

hey guys I got myself a e71. loving it so far but just wondering what configurations I must do. I am with fido, I transfered my sim card from old phone to my new e71 now what must I configure (access points and such)? or is everything good to go because settings were switched on my sim card?
Thanks!

I'll have to ditto that. My E71 and old E61i work great in my basement garage where it seems that all other mobile phones fail. Same with elevators, at least the ones at home at work, never drop a call with my Nokia E-series phones, always impressing/annoying others as I keep on talking (notice other peoples' phones will drop calls).

I've also noticed so far that my E71-1 seems to be louder than my old E61i, and sufficiently loud and clear in urban street traffic.

well, Nokia gave away free units of E71 and E66 to journalist who came to the London Launch, there is even 1 guy who got 2, and some of these guys dont even know what is an S60! :eek:

btw, all my demo units came from UK... so i was hoping that they should have some by now... ;)

I've started heavily using my BB 8820, and all the apps are definitely more productive on the BB then the Nokia now. For my usage (and I consider myself a power user) the upcoming Bold + the apps releasing everyday is going to be at par with S60's apps for being "productive".

The only advantage E71 has, is it's also more "fun".

Well......after seeing the device on Crackberry.com, it's quite a bit bigger than I thought. Besides the new OS and 3G, I don't think it's got anything new than the Curve correct? The E71, better be announced and released soon....it seems like there's going to be a slew of new phones announced from BB, HTC, and SE in the next little while.

Man, I may have to join you today jontymista (since no announcement this week) and go get myself a TC....just don't know how the virtual keyboard will be but I'm willing to give it a try.

I had the same exact expirience w/ plemix and cancelled. I ordered 2 from rose off ebay yesterday. i hope they ship them soon as i sent them a lot of paypal money!! i understand they are good to deal with.

Ha! You call me a geek? Why don't you put your hands on any E-Series device, set it up and use it and then come back into this thread. I am a businessman, executive, critical correspondence and worldwide travel. Hear this from someone who has tried them all..

Wirelessly posted (Nokia E71: Mozilla/5.0 (SymbianOS/9.2; U; Series60/3.1 NokiaE71-1/100.07.76; Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 ) AppleWebKit/413 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/413)
