*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

Yeah....me thinks that the price of Apple Iphone 2 will steal a lot of thunder away from Nokia and Blackberry. It's going to be the same price as the curve when it comes out....and I'm sure the BB bold will be more expensive.

However, it's still not tempting myself away from the E71...still prefer a keyboard.

Regarding the phonescoop vid I don't even think the guy was using the autofocus feature was he? I thought you had to hold the 't' key for a second and wait for it to focus right?

absolutely nothing will happen. hang out in the iphone forum, and those guys will buy the iphone over any other phone regardless of what comes out. i posted that i and many others are waiting the e71 over there, and a few made fun that they would never own some phone with a physical keyboard and less than 3.5 inch screen. they wouldnt touch an e71. myself, i think the e71 looks 10 million times sexier than the iphone.

Hopefully, on Wednesday I'll be joining this conversation as an owner. Mine is on the way, in transit, shipped and winging it's way to my door. Finally, something to release me from Blackberry prison! I've been using a Motorola Q9h Global (unlocked) and a Treo 680 for my smartphone/messaging needs, and while each has it's advantages, the negatives have been weighty and constant sources of annoyance. There may be a return to the Blackberry side at some point, but with T-Mobile service the only new BB I'm likely to see anytime soon is the Kickstart Blackberry. I might get one as a backup/change-of-pace device, but I'm counting on my E71 to be my workhorse. Maybe the real smart play is to supplement the E71 with an E66!

Yes it looks as if it will - the settings for it are there from the BGR TV of the E71. However, I'm more concerned if BOTH modes STILL get their respective emails - regardless of which mode is Active; and the end user has the ability to disable say Personal Mode Email (push) when Work Mode Email Active Standby is active.

you mean Personal/Business or ones created on the BB, but seperate ones you create in Outlook may not sync (I'm not too sure). Also multiple "Contacts" may work, but public folder contacts will not - not without BES 5.0 I believe.

is there anything (Email, Calendar, Notes, etc) unique to the S60 that the BB's do NOT have?

When your in the bluetooth menu, use the left soft key to bring up a menu after highlighting the item you wish to authorize automatically, and guess what you click? authorize automatically :)

I just took the plunge and ordered one from Plemix...with $20 discount. I just couldn't wait anymore with all those comments and pics from Rap :D

I did ask them to send me a non-asian keypad version. We'll see if they do. I figure once the US NAM comes out, I'll get one in White to match my E71-1 version......

To add to bdad's question, how's the sound quality of analog radio on the E71? On my E51 it was thin and one-dimensional - unlike the full sound of the N95's radio.

thank goodness, just what i wanted to hear! it wouldnt have been a deal breaker or anything, but im always constantly monitoring all my bank statements, so this is a great bonus.

man i cant wait for the NAM version to come out now. these next 2-3 weeks are gonna seem like an eternity

From everything I have read, yes, and supposedly a 3 month exclusive, so i dont see any way TMobile gets it before mid Sept, and there are now rumors that the 3G iPhone drops at ATT on June 9th, so where does that put the Bold at ATT?
