*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

I just too a look over at the site above and began exploring the links within. I had NO IDEA that Nokia Intellisync Wireless Email, located here: http://www.nokiaforbusiness.com/nfb...guid=0fb83b9acef96110VgnVCM100000708ef393RCRD , supported Exchange, Lotus Domino, and Novell GroupWise. If the features of this is comparable to the BES then Nokia is NOT doing a good job of marketing, pricing, and pushing for it. I can see the India government settling for this kind of solution, given their lack of trust in RIM's encryption business model - and I pray they hold FAST to it! I see no proof or reason for the decryption that India is asking for (but thats for another discussion).

:) Oh, I think most people refer "active standby screen" as the S60's "home" screen that shows the short cuts, appointments, emails, wlan status, etc. I think you are referring to the "screen saver" screen. :2thumbs:

I got mine to stop freezing by opening up nokia maps in offline profile and setting the program to not go online at startup but my problem is I cant get the phone to go online at all using my t-zones connection.

Was he talking about the Cingular 6682. I heard that was a disaster. I think the experience with 6682 might have lead to the stripped down E62 and delayed N75, or even ATT's total distrust of S60.

after a week of use are you guys and gals like the typing speed? do you find the typing fast. so far i'm getting used to it i wish the keys were a little wider.

does anyone know a good website or program that measures your typing speed on a phone?

I think this beat the iPhone 3G thread in the Rogers forum where the users were dying for a Canadian iPhone announcement. They reached a 100 AFTER the announcement

EDIT: That thread's dissapeared. They made a new one. But yea, 100 pages, with NO OFFICIAL WORD. I think this is Nokia's personal best online

And we can only hope that it doesnt have anything to do with At&t releasing the E71 all mucked up and therefor making Nokia wait to realease it unlocked. Homescreen search? You mean where you can search contacts from the homescreen?

Well, for email, I have to agree with your coworkers..... nothing beats the BB, but the E71 looks like a very nice piece of hardware.

It also depends on the type of user..... for executives and sales/marketing types, I dont think you will find a better device than a BB. They are very simple to use. The S60 devices are more oriented to us "geeks". (IMHO).
