*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

Well, that is a perception and may or may not be true, but their sales numbers are pretty darn good. Trust me, I am not an Apple defender. The only Apple product I have ever owned in my whole life is a 40GB iPod. Its totally old school, music only. I have no need for anything more. But love em or hate them, they sell products.

So once the A-GPS uses the network to lock, it doesn't use data transmission while using GPS?

The thing is, I dont use a data plan, and i dont plan to.. I would expect to use GPS while in buildings.. only when I drive...

from what i remember wen having a qwerty phone, you have to you memory and figure which letter would correspond to which number on a normal keypad. not sure if s60 deals with this another way or not

Windows or OS X? With a mac when you pair your cellphone it asks if you would like to use the data connection of the phone, I use my E71-2 to connect to the internet on my laptops when I'm not in my house and it works amazingly! It surprises me that even in 2007 people would be in aw of the ability for a laptop to use a phone as a bluetooth modem... (not that I think it's 2007, but that's the last time someone saw me do it for the first time, internet on snowboarding road trips is awesome.)

I highly suggest you wait for the E71-2. Markham does have excellent 3G coverage, but it is saturated with users there. I wouldn't be surprise if it switches over to 1900 at times.

Signing apps is super easy, you just upload the .sis file to the open signed portal and it sends you an email link to download the signed app. There are certain things that apps signed in this way can't do, and the particular installer will only work on one phone, but it's easy and works fine for things like CellTrack.

It's also trivial to hack your phone to support the installation of unsigned apps and to disable all capability checking, which lets you write an app to do anything you like and read/modify any file on the phone.

What a dumb way to put it.....September or before....as if we did not know.....'Before' can be even tomorrow......
I would take such random revelations with a pinch of salt provided there is another rumour that E71 is going to carry FP2.

It will take week or two even if Nokia would say that the release would be immediate. There will be some units out there, but to get sufficient stock to shops it have seemed to take some time at least that has been the case in the past..... i'm still waiting this first to get released thought :D

EDIT:amag 92 pages of blabbering.

Yes i know people have said so. But its what i have been doing since day one of owning nokia's and i have found that this conditioning has always given me the best battery usage. As i am coming from n95/full opera. Does anyone know how to move the bookmarks from full opera into opera mini please? And i dont suppose ngage works on the e-series? lol :silly:

My guess is that neither the Bold nor the next iphone will be available in Asia nor Europe any time soon. The E71 probably will be released before both the Bold and iphone 2 in Asia/Europe but it looks like the E71 will be behind the Bold and iphone 2 in North America and be lost in the crowd.

*whimper* Must have it....must have it....must have it...must have it....

Still gotta make sure it has A2DP though, or my Voyager 855 stereo headset is semi-useless.
