*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

Hey, I have a question about the music player...

I've been using the E71 since July/August, whenever it came out, and I've had very few problems with it. Some of my main problems are when I upload music though.

Normally when I upload music (from my Mac OS X10.5.6) I just used the Mass Storage and drag/dropped. Even when I would eject the phone, wait, then disconnect the wire, the nokia music player would say it was still connected and I would have to manually reset the phone. Of course, it would say it was disconnected improperly and then it would automatically rebuild the library, but everything always came up...

Now only 15 random songs are appearing in my library. If i use my native file explorer the songs are still there and still play in the native music app, but they won't load, so the only way i can listen to them is to choose each song one by one from the file explorer. I downloaded the media transfer program for mac, but that didn't solve anything. Right now I'm using the "Fill-Up Music" option and hoping that, at the very minimum, the songs uploaded through that will show up in my music player, but I would still REALLY like to get the music player to show all my files. I've tried removing the batter, removing the mem card, removing the battery AND the mem card...All the songs work in Core Player, so I know they're not corrupted...talk about frustrating...My brother said the same thing happened to his N78(i think) a couple months ago, then one day the songs just randomly came back...but I don't want to wait that long.

Sorry for being so long winded, but I'm a long time lurker and don't want a "use the search feature" reply, 'cause I tried and couldn't find anything. Thank in advance!

I cant believe someone actually mentioned the word Blackjack anywhere near a Nokia or even iPhone for that matter. The BJ's are total junk, thats why they are free!!

I have to agree Carl, the only really amazing thing about the iPhone 2 is the price. Theres still a huge list of "but still no"s for a "new and improved" phone. And what about the actual phone? Did they improve its biggest flaw? I know my N82 makes great calls and can do all those things that the "improved" I2 still cant do. What would really get my attention would be a Apple QWERTY device that was thin and sleek like the iPhone. Of course without all the "still no"s.

the forum guys from Hong Kong verified that, after checked the pics from BGR

hope nokia will bring them into America with full US 3G bands (850/AWS/1900)

My source, who is a pretty reliable one, tells me to look for a May release, complete with US carrier availability on AT&T, as well as the standard unlocked channels (your favorite shops, nokia flagship stores, etc.).

While that's all he said, given Ralph de la Vega's comments the other day about all smartphones coming to AT&T being 3G handsets, it seems to confirm US 3G bands on the E71.

I'm jazzed about this phone. My e61i is getting a bit long in the tooth..

If I am Nokia, I would want the spotlight all to myself for as long as I can get it. Why release it when the iphone is released? The iPhone will get all the media attention and the E71 will look like another "me too" device. Im sure there is a good reason on why it has not been released, but I dont think its marketing. Its hard to sell and market a phone that doesnt exist yet, and the way technology changes so quickly, every day not released is on more day it moves closer to being obsolete.

somehow I was the firstone on here to have the N82, I wish I knew if they had it earlier than other places at the time though so I could tell if he traditionally gets the phones a few days sooner or not.

I'm in the US, went to http://search.live.com , searched on terms like "Nokia" and "Nokia E71" and couldn't get the Live Search Cashback logo to come up. Searched on "microKorg" and got a link for 20% on eBay, but noticed that once on eBay, I could search for other items and the 20% cashback icon was still there; go figure.
