*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

Well, Steve Litchfield's S60 comparison chart at http://3lib.ukonline.co.uk/s60history.htm gives the E61i's screen diagonal as 2.75", two decimal places there.

But this screen indeed looks bigger than 2.36". The reported screen size and resolution may be wrong, but the picture looks real to me. The home, calendar, messaging, and contacts keys have the same icons as the E51 even though their positions are different. The case and overall design closely resemble the E51, except that obviously the phone is wider. As has been pointed out, it's not so easy to photoshop a device shown being held in someone's hand. I don't doubt the authenticity of the picture, but I also don't take it for granted that this phone will necessarily see the light of day.

I guess Nokia likes to leave us all in suspense and then dazzel us in the end! I hope Nokia gets their new line-up out soon too! Besides, I'm sick of looking at I-Phone commercials!!

Firmware history question: I had 110.07.127 loaded Via NSU which was Released 09-10-2008. Now with 200.21.118 loaded I can't download Windows live client from Download!. It's not even offered. Has anyone else had this issue? Found nothing on this when I googled.

@terre08

I can't agree with you about Yahoo as in the UK POP is free and using Seven to push it to my device all i get is my Inbox NO spam at all. Unlike the iPhone that got all my spam put in the Inbox and then pushed it the iPhone.

Of course i realise we don't all want or need the same functionality and there are so may free or paid for solutions for Push E-Mail. But the reason i use Seven is due to how easy it is to set up and how well it works. As all you have to do is install the app select an Account and enter your user name and password for each account no forwarding your Mail anywhere or setting anything else up is required. After which you can choose how much of the E-Mail you want downloaded and for what period of each day with different settings for Weekends if you want it. You can even set it to disable if roaming or when the battery gets low and most of the time my mail hits my E90 before my Laptop.

i dont even mind not having the phone in hand
at least announce it for sale so we can have some confirmation
i am still getting a lingering bittersweet feeling with this qvga 2.4" screen

This phone is light and thin, when it's in my pocket I can barely feel it. The phone is very solid but it's a definite fingerprint magnet. I can't say I enjoy the keypad as much as the others.

Any advise on getting maps to work?

The built in mail client in S60 supports POP3 and IMAP4 fine, and that is not going away.
MfE is a pretty decent product and integrates nicely with the active standby screen. It is used in addition to the built in mail client and becomes a new mailbox in the built in mail client.

Do you guys think BBC will go away?

I'm having the same issue and problems with deleted emails as well. Coming from windows mobile on the Blackjack...I feel that the email client on the E71 is subpar and is really turning me off to this phone. This is the primary reason for me getting this phone was for the email client. I guess this is the problem with being an early adopter.
