*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

THanks for the clear explanation, friedbrains. Appreciated.

3G is 3G, 3.5G is the same no? HSPA is here in North America. Maybe more congested or less robust?

Anyone else see Stereo Speakers (bottom Left & Ride Sides) on the E71 along with another on the top?!

I really loved the big landscape screen on E61, the VERY BEST web experience, period!
if bb bold has AWS version and multiple streaming (real, shoutcast) and local (mp3, ogg, wma, aac, asf), I'd settle with bb Bold
same way as E71 (it already fits my streaming requirement), if AWS version of E71-3 is released, I'll buy in a heartbeat! :clapping:

That's what I always do, but now they don't show up in my app manager, as well as not being able to delete from the themes section. I will check out those links, thanks!

EDIT: I installed the themes to my phone memory, so this will not help me at all. :( I am using up a lot of memory that i would love to get rid of.

Congrats on your new phone. I myself am in a similar vote! I'll be getting mine in less than 2.5wks. I too have been bouncing around phones BB Pearl - work related & personal growth in my career, K790a - camera, K850i - Triband 3G/Camera great looking & great deal. But I feel shafted for every leaving S60 in the first place when I had the 6620 prior to the Pearl! That thing was the work horse in the day for NGage/apps/RAM!!

I now have a BB Curve 8310(GPS) and I cannot STAND the keys on this. I have small hands and find myself typing the incorrect pw on many attempts. As this week ends I find I'm also typing on the nails of my thumbs & its driving me nutso! I CANNOT wait for the E71-2. What sucks is I'll still be carrying 2 devices daily :( . Work & Play.

Guys, I have an interesting question..

How many of you have a sort of "fade-out" effect when moving through menues? Mine doesn't but on some forums there a few users who do.

Is it possible? I cannot find that option anywhere...

I've lived without 3G for the past few years with the iPhone and HTC Vox and E61 but still wish I could have at least found a good price on the 850/2100 version to get a little taste of speed.

But the urge for new gadget smell and feel overtook the need for speed.

Just dont get too exited. I'm not sure if you can take that guys saying as a fact thought what ever that Badger have said till now have been spot on.
Wouldnt mind E66, E71, N810 wimax and maybe some extra tomorrow :D

By the time Nokia finally gets around to really, really, really releasing the E71 to the North American market...millions of prime consumers will have already picked up their new (depends on who you ask...) 3G iPhone, or BlackBerry Bold. Nokia will have lost the momentum that it might have ridden to get a piece of the pie that those guys are gobbling up...and an enlarged piece of the US market share that they seem not to give a damn about.

Once again, Nokia's corporate arrogance serves them well...

Sad.

I would HIGHLY recommend the E71 model. Even though low finances play a role, I have been using my E71 for the longest of all my devices so far. It's portability, slim profile, fast qwerty, sufficient speaker and camera make it a goldmine.

After a few months, my E71 has adopted many uses for me: phone, PDA, music player, camera, internet, email, word processor, GPS tracker, 3G bluetooth modem, and alarm clock.

To this day I am impressed with the Nokia Sport Tracker app. I still use it along with my iPod Touch/Nike Sport Kit on my 5 mile runs and sync the E71 with my online Nokia Sport account.

I have absolutely no worries about keeping my E71 and MacBook in sync, for Missing Sync for Symbian does it automatically via bluetooth without fail.

When I go out to public hotspots that happen to fail, I have the advantage of using it as a modem for internet access. The speed is not always wi-fi fast, but is dependable and better than no access at all.

With a 16GB microSD card, this serves as a music player on the go for music transfers from my Mac or podcast episodes from the Nokia Podcasting app.

Honestly, I am so pleased with my E71 setup that I really haven't been impressed by even the N97 or the Palm Pre. My documented affinity for the E90 has been long forgotten, and I have not one regret. I would not be surprised if I end up staying with my E71 for the long haul.
