*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

You can customize the duration of the flashing but not the speed of flashing or color etc.

Keypad lock works two ways, Menu ->function key or Menu -> * key.

Ok I need some help here with shortcuts, I have figured out a few, but not all:

Bluetooth shortcut - hold down *
Internet shortcut - hold down 0
Switch between silent and normal profiles - hold down # (only on some versions)

Now, HTF do you copy and paste? I could do it fine on my e51, but cant figure out how to do it on my e71, so any help would be great. Thanks!

Windows as well as Palm are all proprietary as well. They are all owned by a single company. I am not sure about Symbian. OSX is proprietary as well. That makes NO difference. What makes a difference is if the owner opens up the OS to developers by publishing APIs and providing OS emulators and SDK. To say that S60 is "better' than the BB OS is just plain opinion.

Nokia needs at&t in the U.S. but at&t doesn't need Nokia.

Nokia has to show that they can make a handset that appeals to the masses (RAZR, Iphone...) or find a niche market (Blackberry)...then when they do, MARKET THE HELL out of it!

I have checked other forums and it seems that if mailforexchange is properly set up the battery does well. The problem seems to be with the Nokia beta software and not the phone.

BTW where is Maevro from MCO?

Way back in Feb. he had seen the E71 and confirmed that it is a sweet devices and is for real , when it wasn't confirmed if the E71 exists.
He should be having some dates for arrival, since they source it from all over the world.

Maevro are you there?????????

I completely agree... About 99% of the customers at my stores ask for a ' Free ' Phone... And, God forbid if it's free after a MIR.. It needs to be Free Instantly  And, yet, they expect the phone to have Bluetooth, Camera, Expansion Slot.... and want a FREE car charger, pouch / carrying case... geez!!

I haven't had that experience. It crashes less often than my E62 did, but my E71 crashes a few times a week. I have all kinds of programs running, though, so it could be some program I'm using.

Ive had no issues at all with the Nokia Beta Email app. Works great. I just got my E71-2 today so I have yet to load it up but I will. On my E71-1 the Nokia email app didnt affect the battery at all. I prefer that app to anything else Ive found yet. The built in client is trash.

On a side not forgive me if this has been mentioned but I noticed the NAM E71 is MIF.

I have been only able to make one call with my E71-2 but it seemed much louder then the E71-1, maybe the 3G makes a difference. It was to my VM which I called from each phone. The E71-1 I had to have turned up all the way to hear and the E71-2 I had 2 more bars till it was all the way up. NICE!
