*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

I'd love it if they'd take the E61i screen and just shoehorn it into the E71. 2.8" would be fine, even at 320 X 240 resolution, though I certainly wouldn't argue if they bumped the res up! Cut the bezel down and have nearly edge-to-edge screen.

I'm getting that nervous feeling, like I'm mentally counting down to tomorrow's announcement. You know where I'll be: right here, tapping the "screen refresh" button like a rabid ferret on crack!

I wouldn't change it, in fact I consider you lucky to get it with the v100 FW. I'm on v110 and I suffered my first reboot during a call incident. I didn't find any improvement in it over v100 worth dealing with that for.

Why pay more? Cause even w/out US 3G.

You get a features like on the E90 and phone that is smaller than E61i.

So that's the reason why.. If does are not important to you then your completely correct about your comment.

Part of the reason for me waiting on the E71. I really like what I see in the N95-3 but I am not ready to give up my QWERTY on the E70 and would LOVE some more speed as well as GPS/3G/etc.

Thank you guys. I was just excited about what I saw and wanted to post it. I am at Cisco Networkers in Orlando, FL. Nokia was mostly demonstrating their unified messaging calibration with Cisco Call Manager and they were showing off E-Series line.

All in all Nokia has some pretty impressive things going on. Their wireless cell phones with the Cisco integration is price competitive compared with some of the Cisco VOIP only phones. I have customers (I am a consultant) that are installing Cisco Wireless/VOIP networks and would like to take a look at what Nokia is offering on the Cisco VOIP side of things.

I won a Nokia T-Shirt and a Voice over IP book from them :) - (they are raffling off Xbox 360 - I was joking with one of the reps and told them to give a E71 instead - last year they raffled off a Nokia E61i).

I got one at Best Buy yesterday. Def not the lowest price, but I like the walk in, walk out with it in hand feature. I must say, I am very impressed with this phone. I used the 66 since July and was so impressed with it that I could not put it down the whole time. Well, I was missing qwerty so on an impulse I stopped in to see what was available and found it there, several in stock, all the grey color which I like anyway. I was worried about all the issues I had been reading about with RF fluctuations being at the top of the list. So far, No problems and covering the bottom does nothing to the signal bars. I can't wait to test it in some known lo RF areas. F/W is 100.07.76 08/06/2009 pc is 0569371. The update checker says this is the latest available. Don't think I'd want to change it as it is fantastic. No issues. The speed of this thing even on tmo edge is the fastest of any device I've used to date. Even faster than my 66 and on wifi it just plain smokes. I'm very impressed. I'm going to enjoy this phone. btw BB price was $460. I know they're cheaper. I'm just to dang impulsive for my own good at times.Lol.
