*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

your phone needs to refresh the read status... so if you configured your imap client to check at 30 mins interval, it will refresh at this time...
it worked this way on my N95-3... and now, it's the same thing with my E71.

I think people are getting cazy from waiting on this phone to become available from retailers. One symptom is talking about Lexus cars in a E71 thread and the other is repeating each other about flash lite 3.

do qwerty keyboards with all the keys directly 90 degrees from each other really make it harder to type? playing with other qwerty phones, i didnt notice if the keys were spaced exactly like a real keyboard, or just 90 degrees apart like a box. i would rather have clean looking box shape than staggered keys like a full keyboard.

Well everyone has seen it from the times of O2 XDA some 4-5 years ago and everyone used it without the stylus except for letter input which was replaced when the Spb full screen keyboard came out.
So, as far as touch screen goes, Iphone was never an innovation. Even if apple claims that you don't need a stylus, the text input sux big time and if a stylus was provided, people would have used it. They just saved a dollar by not including a stylus.
It is just a marketing gimmick that has worked for them big time.Just see the no. of smart guys who got an iphone , then sold it for being a dumb phone.

Oh and the pricing at 199 & 299, it is just going to be in the US with carrier subsidy. Here in India, no carrier offers subsidy and sell at cost +. So it would be interesting to find out the pricing worldwide , other than US.And in reality if they do sell at 199 & 299 everywhere, they will wipe out the el cheapo Chinese Handset market that sell for the same price.

Just for comparitive reasons a BB curve 8310, even today, sells for USD 581 with carrier lock as against USD 300 odd unlocked in the US.

Any news whether the E71 is supporting BBC?

I think we have to launch the Music Player first in order for the Music folder to be created, then its visible. I went through the same issue. And it keeps happening when you reboot the phone.

You'll want to move music in to the Music folder once its created by the phone on the MicroSD.

If you recall, way back some 2yrs ago, The BlackBerry 7270 wireless handheld connects through BlackBerry Enterprise Server to provide support for push-based email, instant messaging (IM), organizer, Internet and intranet applications and to make and receive wireless VoIP (voice over Internet Protocol) calls through enterprise telephone systems (ie. IP-PBXs) via the industry-standard SIP (session initiation protocol).

RIM?s acquisition of Ascendent Systems (Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at 6:00 AM PT), a company that makes IP-based systems for large corporations, and can integrate tightly with existing PBX and IP-PBX telephony systems to ?push? voice calls and extend desk phone functionality to mobile users on their wireless handsets, or any wireline phone.

sorry but just to show options on the other side of the smartphone realm.

I'm eagerly looking forward to the E71 release.

anybody successsfully installed an English to Japanese dictionary to the E71 NAM phone?

i installed it, but the fonts shows up for jampanese as a plain shape of a box.

like i need the fonts for the japanese loaded on to the E71.

just like when you google for a japanese website and you find it, but click on the site, all you see are BOX BOX BOX fonts..

wl08, this is by far the only Nokia phone I've ever come across that has had these many pages without a release (still not available anywhere). How many pages did the N95 have before it's release?
