*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

I have been following this E71 for some time and Badger who has reported about E66 and E71 really knows what he's talking(have reported example N82 spec before it came out and reported about E90).

Well we will see. E71 sounds dream come true for me if it's true.

Have you looked in Log, and clicked over to the right. It gives detail of everything there and you can not only see how many times they called, but also the times.

I'm going to be honest, I'm disappointed with Nokia's business offerings and lack of phones with QWERTY.

The delays on the E71, coupled with the new Blackberry, Windows, and Apple offerings coming up are going to make this long time Symbian fan jump ship. :(

The waiting is killing me...haven't been with an S60 device since I sold my E90 about 2 months ago.....I'm getting antsy :(

The more I read and look at this phone, the more I'm excited.

yeah but i'm willing to bet that all the pics we've seen did not have the screen settings turned up. they were probably all on default settings, so it might get much brighter at max setting.

I hope users can opt to disable that feature.

We have 12 cats who jump all over the place, so I always keep my handset face down on my desk to prevent the screen getting scratched, but I don't want my handset being forced into Silent mode!

.

Ha Ha Thanks :buddies: I actually did made that far into the "Phone and Sim Card" menu but saw the first 3 lines as the Pin code related options and did not bother to "scroll" down. Thanks again.

Sounds like a good project for a smart college student like you! I agree, it would be cool, but I guess I dont use most of the cool features of my phone anyway.

Not sure but I think Bestskinsever.com has a full body skin (including screen).

I have used those on an iPhone and Treo 650 and look and protect incredibly cool.

Cheers!

PS.- My very own E71 is on it's way! ;)

Sounds like either A: you're missing some sort of certificate, or maybe B: Motorola needs to update their app and you should bother them about it.

Doesn't Good Messaging use Exchange ActiveSync?

Yeah what's going on Nokia? Originally everyone thought this thing was to be announced 4/15. It's almost two months since and still nothing except for a few photo shots and a BGR semi review....very strange....

Hi Guys,

Take this with a grain of salt. I was at a conference today and Nokia was showing off their device management software and unified communications client that runs on the S60 phones.

They had a E71 on display and I got to hold it for a few seconds. Not long enough to write a review. The phone looked nice and felt nice. However I missed the keyboard of my Nokia E61i right away. I probably have big hands but the keyboard felt a little cramped - however it seemed like I could get used to pretty quick as well.

If you have no issues with the size and typing on the BB Curve you will not have any issues with this phone. It felt much more solid and nicer then the Curve.

The Nokia rep told me they expect the phone to be out next month for about $499.00. He said Ingram Micro is taking pre-orders for the phone. I also see Tiger Direct is taking preorders for $429.00

-don't kill the messenger

Yeah, I hear ya. Yesterday was pretty disappointing. I sure wasted a lot of time on the forums yesterday. I think I am just going to forget about it and not check in every few minutes today.

For the E71 (or whatever the E61i replacement is going to be designated), to be a success, the best and easiest thing Nokia could do is simply offer the E51 and all it's features in a QWERTY, large screen format, but perhaps the size could be closer to the Blackberry.

If Nokia did so, then E-Series consumers would have three great choices: the E51, the E71 and the E90.

My dos pesos!

In the pics and videos the white one looks a bit flashier, while the grey is a bit more understated. Would like to compare the two up close but this is the price you pay to be an early adopter.

Just returned my trial model to WOM. It's been a month and I have to say this is model was outstanding. The OS is very stable and fast. I only rebooted maybe twice if even.

The phone feels solid and it is a great looking phone, everywhere I went someone always asked what kind of phone it was. Lots of blackberry owner's wanted to know where they can buy one. Texting and email is as solid as the BB.

The camera is only a 3.2 megapixel so the pictures are ht or miss however, it is better than the BB.
