*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

Well you press on the screen and the keyboard pops out.....actually I'm loving WM....mine's very stable so far, battery life is Ok (can get through a day). You should also ask Jontymisra....The new HTC main screen layout is nice and I also use SPB Pocket Shell....Never thought that I would keep it since I usually like a physical keyboard, but I think the virtual keyboard is the future.....heck even BB is going to have one, so one better get use to it....

I've got a Plantronics A2DP headset coming Tuesday (should have been tomorrow, damn Amazon!). Presumably it will work OK.

The N810 tethering works well, as reported above, but you are limited by BT speed.

I need to get a MicroUSB-A->MicroUSB-B cable and see if I can get that working at higher speed.

I've got to say, aside from the lack of 3G on my model, the phone rocks. It's stable as hell, it feels solid and the battery on this thing is like the energizer battery.

I am not impressed with the camera however, I wished it had auto focus. The GPS locks in rather quickly now.

Overall I am very satisified with this model.

not sure weirdalchy but i'm using seven beta email app and it kills the built in application. emails are notified instantly, show on my homescreen, give you that power save option, and each email downloads x about of kb so you don't have to wait for the emails to load. i have mine set for 10kb and it's perfect.

i've had problems though on my nseries devices of seven slowing down my phone. so far not the case with the e71. i downloaded the e90 version btw.

Make sure you're configuring the value of "Initial Sync" in the M4E profile for both contacts & calendar. You'll get the mandatory settings missing error if you don't specify the value of Initial Sync.

Rap - you just pulled the trigger a little too quickly with your Good tech problem. You know that the minute the UPS driver pulls away from your front door delivering your E71 to the new owner, there will be a Good client for the E71!

So you'll be getting a new one as soon as you can! After playing with one, you're hook! But look at it this way - you'll have a new US version handset w/ US support. I know I'd be more comfortable with that.

Apologies if this has been answered somewheres else, but...

[rant] How come Nokia can't make handsets with tri-band HSDPA, like HTC does?! [/rant]

So just curious...Is this phone a recommended buy?...I really like it and I am thinking about picking it up. I would be using it on ATT here in New York...your thoughts?
thanks

You know, I really hope that they don't make it narrower than the E61i. I like the form factor of the current model, just want more speed and accelerometer/gps/better camera. My N95-1 is relegated to weekend phone as the draw of full qwerty is so strong...
