for A2DP bluetooth audio, check out the sony HBH-DS205....i just recieved mine yesterday from Hong Kong....it works amazingly with the e71. the best thing is that you can plug in your own set of headphones as the device has a built in mic for making phone calls as well....highly, highly recommend it.
yeah, but it runs WM.....
BTW, how is your stability and battery life?
Do you have to "bring up" the KB to type on it? I like the dedicated KB. I had a WM slider and thought that sliding up the KB was a pain in the butt.
I do like the idea of a full QWERTY, 20 key and 9 key. I happened to like suretype on the BB.
i agree. there have been some cases of unbranded TILT phones getting forced onto the PDA data plan because ATT sells this phone and i guess the system finds it. back in january there were rumors of audits going around where people were getting their data plan changed. i doubt this will happen, but it was just a thought that came to me.
does anyone know if there is a power saver feature or something of the like that would prevent my IMAP Gmail account to stay connected like it has in the past? Im still on my original charge and its very low and since about 5 hours ago it seems like Im not getting instant emails like I usually do. I also dont notice the Edge symbal almost always on??
who all thinks the e71 is going to be next n95?
the n95 was basically revolutionary and became the phone to have and proved that nokia belonged in the number 1 spot
right now nokia isnt too hot in the us and everyone only knows them for making cheap entry level phones and people think apple, htc, and blackberrys are the only phones worth mentioning
but nokia seems to want to go all out with this phone. they want to have a 3g version for at&t and tmo. this could mean that s60 can be a household os. i think nokia's plan with the e71 is to show all stupid americans who knows how to make a smart phone.
plus if they price it right the e71 can and will outsell all those winmo and blackberry phones by features and design alone. and most likely take the market from dumb phones too because all you need is a media max plan to do it all with the phone.
theres tons of teenagers these days who like the feel of a smartphone but cant convince their moms and dads to let them have a 30 dollar data plan...
sorry for the rant
cliffnotes: e71 will rock the US.
For those of you who are looking for discounts on the E71:
I just purchased an E71 from eBay after clicking through from the www.live.com search engine. I got 25% off cashback into my PayPal account from my purchase, which came out to around $140. Basically, I did a search for "Nokia E71" on live.com and there was a cashback link for 25% cashback on eBay listings that accept PayPal. You can find more info at the following link:
Please note, the amount that you get back is random, but for me I got 25%. I'm not trying to advertise anything, but hoping to help any HoFoers out there looking for savings. Hope this helps you guys save money!
