*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

i dont think there is any learning curve for symbian phones at all. just hang around this forum for any questions and you'll pick it up in 1 day lol.

I agree...sadly. A few years ago, I was almost an SE fanboy...because I owned both the w810i and k790a, and they were both such outstanding phones and had such a cutting-edge OS as far as user-friendliness goes. Frankly, I have wanted the new SE "Sofia" k850i for the longest...but the huge number of horror stories about it's bugginess has kept me (thankfully) away.

One of the biggest complaint I have heard about the E61/E62 was how wide it was, and that is directly related to the screen size. In order to give the market a less wide, more comfortable device, the screen had to be smaller. If you need the huge screen, there is still the E90.

Just read about the new Balckberry Bold is coming to ATT this summer with 850/1900/2100 3G, WiFi, GPS, 1GB interanl memory, 480x320 display, etc.... The E71 is going to have the same fate as the N75 did in the US if not released soon. :crying: The E71 seems to outperform the Bold only in the camera department.

Wirelessly posted (Nokia 6600: Mozilla/5.0 (SymbianOS/9.2; U; Series60/3.1 NokiaN95_8GB/20.0.016; Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 ) AppleWebKit/413 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/413)

mine wild guess we gone get it on sat or monday as it seems it has not yet shipped. No tracking info nothing.

Wow was really looking forward to today...so far Nokia hasn't impressed with any of their announcements....

Was just playing with my BB today and really love the smaller form factor, but went back to the E90 because of the features....now I guess I will wait for the BB 9000 to come out...it looks hot!!

I really hope the device lives upto the hype!

From AAS
"The E71 fares well when it comes to multimedia creation, though I have to admit to being a little disappointed by the camera - I'd been hoping for the same unit that featured in the E90. Instead, we get a small lensed 3.2mp camera (to bang the gong yet again - it's not all about how many megapixels a camera has) with comparatively cheap optics and sensor. You can see in the examples here (click to open full-size) that in bright conditions contrast is handled relatively poorly. Indoors, the images are digitally noisy, even with the LED flash, as you'd expect from such a small lens. No worse than in the cameras in many other smartphones, but worse than the E90's camera and a lot worse than that in the likes of the N95."

I will give the E71 a pretty serious look once it is released. Especially if it beats the Bold to market. I have yet to have great success with BB connect, which would be my major concern. Both times I had used in WM devices, so I hoping the E71 can integrate better with BB Connect.

i'm tethering right now with it and its identical to my n95. works without a hitch, 1 click and its connected.

stupid verizon router always craps out.

the A2DP i havent tried music yet. i did pair my stereo bluetooth headset for calling, and it was fine in my car so far. however last night outside it kept disconnecting. i couldnt tell if it was the battery dying or not. havent messed with it since then. but now that i think about it, i hope its not another rf antenna issue. we all know the bluetooth performs the worst in an open area like the mall parking lot, which is where i was last night when it kept disconnecting. i'll test more today.
