*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

I haven't pre-ordered anything from them, and what ever they said they have and I've purchased came through no problem. But I remember people had pre-ordered E90 from buy.com, and after months and months of waiting, they eventually canceled a majority of them. Some of those peeps linger around here.

E51 was not designed for BB-Connect as well, the E90 client worked on it. From what I've heard RIM and Nokia have some battle going on, and Nokia has decided to stop supporting BB-Connect altogether and push MFE.

Funny, my E62 lived in my pocket for a long time without a case and never got scratched up. It got scratched up after I bought a case and a mount to put it on my bike, and then it fell off the mount, out of the case, and bounced end over end a few times at 20mph. That scratched it up. The Krusell Cabriolet is not a good case. I should have bought a Classic like I had for my E61.

Perhaps it was so durable because the bottom corners are metal.

Obviously a good screen protector is required, as the screen will get scratched if you don't have one. (I used the shipping protector until very recently, when I was ordering a Martin Fields for my N810 and bought one for my E62, I had one on my E61 before I left it.)

I'm currently on At&t Cingular... havn't updated my profile....

June 16th isnt exactly 3rd quarter. I wonder if Nokia is waiting on the release of the iPhone so they can perhaps add some new feature into the E71 after the iphone specs are set in stone.

Maybe so....I'd still rather get the AT&T version if they don't neuter it completely. And AT&T isn't nearly as bad as some carriers out there *cough*VERIZON*cough*. Some of the stuff AT&T puts on there is actually useful.

Particularly, I'd want XpressMail for Yahoo Mail (YahooGo is SUCH a bear). The MediaNet browser is handy for quickie stuff. AT&T usually puts an IM client on there too, so I wouldn't need to bother with Fring (I hate their -nonexistent- list management).

They did tweak this FP1 for these two devices and has nice transitions added. I think the new calendar and contact search functions will be nice...would be nice if they changed the contact layout as well as the calendar one. The calendar looks 10x better and more business oriented now....I like that. :)
