Honestly, I played with for an hour before putting it up and I haven't noticed any restrictions that aren't on my unlocked E71. I wouldn't recommend playing embedded flash on the S60 browser, it will memory allocation fail you back to standby screen. Otherwise, the UI is responsive and the outer LCD with touch controls is fun. The rest is standard S60 fare. Icons are moveable, there's a choice of standby screens, themes, and standby shortcuts are customizable.

There's no Download! or Ovi links, but that shouldn't be suprising.



I work for AT&T on the retail side in the Illinois/Wisconsin market, where it is 69.99 after MIR and data plan subscription. Prices vary by market and channel.
 
The only question I have then is will the music player play without any stuttering while those apps are running and being used? I know my N95-1 would stutter the music when using the camera or with GPS running.

If it can run music while doing those things then I can't see the RAM being an issue other than being a debating point. At $219 with no contract this phone effectively replaces the 6120 as the world's cheapest smartphone I would guess. If it can multitask like that then it beats the iPhone at a fraction of the cost.

This phone to me is far more exciting than current N-series development.
 
That is what I thought when I looked at the 6650. I wish they could un-neuter it and merge the body with the V9x... now you've got a real quality N series folder fone.

In other news, it has really awesome voice quality. Being on the receiving end of the call, the 6650 has a slightly more open sound to it than the V9x. I think the crystaltalk must clip the high frequencies slightly.
 
I have an ATT-branded NA 6650 fold with original firmware 3.25, and this firmware has very serious bluetooth problems. I'm not able to get it working with the following hands-free systems:

- Ford Sync in-car communication system versions 1.2, 1.3, 2.0
- Nissan in-car communication system
- TomTom GPS navigators (tried many of them, neither works)
- Garmin Nuvi 765t GPS navigator

The symptoms are the same - after initial pairing, the other device is not able to establish blutooth connection to Nokia 6650.

I think Nokia is letting us down by not releasing fixes for this apparently broken firmware. I will NOT buy another nokia product, and would advise everybody against buying 6650.

Its not a fact that Nokia is not capable of making such a phone with your request of specification..

We know for a fact that Nokia is capable of that..

But we all know that it takes 2 to tango in these type of situations.. Its just not Nokia that calls the shots here.. AT&T still has to approve the features..

and we all know the fact that AT&T and Nokia don't have of a good relationship..
 
Ok so now get this one guys... you're not gonna believe it... I went on their cingular video site just to see what they offer and it wouldn't even play most of the videos I selected!... It kept giving me a memory error and saying I needed to close open applications... except that there weren't any other applications open!... Not good...
 
A few questions remain:

1. Has anyone recorded video with the 6650? Decent quality?

2. Can you turn off the 3G and opt for 2G only? On the Blackberry Bold you cannot do this with an AT&T-branded unit. My unlocked Rogers unit does allow this, but even with updating the OS to a non-AT&T version you still cannot turn off 3G if the unit says AT&T on it. At the fringe of 3G coverage this is apparently killing battery life.

3. Does the 6650 come with the Barcode Scanner software for reading QR Codes?

I'm terribly disappointed by the lack of support for Share on Ovi. Killer for me.
 
I can't seem to get Nokia Internet Radio to run. When I try to play a station, I get an exclamation-point error box with the text "Application closed: Internet radio". I'm not sure if this is an out-of-memory error or something different. Ideas?
 
I've had mine six months now, it's never caused problems for me. Conversely, based on only my experiences I could post that I just can't believe that anyone here could possibly have a bad experience with this phone. ;)
 
So I'm thinking whether to keep this phone or not... Today I missed a call with my new replacement phone, so I'm thinking either they're all like this or maybe it's AT&T's network (but I never had a problem using my 6267 that I can remember)... also I'm kind of getting tired of its random restarts... it reboots itself like just about everyday if I use it too much, like play music over stereo bluetooth and use the net... it's too bad cuz I like flip phones but the specs are kind of shoddy... think I might try an N78, although I've read a lot of negative things about that phone too... but I can just return that phone if I don't like it too... any thoughts people?!...
