*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia 6650 (RM-324 6650d-1bH) NAM 3G 850/1900

couldn't the magnetic field that you are detecting just be either the external or earpiece speaker? the external speaker seems to be located near the logo.

I've been waiting on this phone for months and now that I've got it I don't know whether I'll keep it or not. Memory is my biggest issue right now - I've deleted everything out of phone memory I can - just to try and install a new Theme that I liked on my N75 and still can't get it in. I tried deleting all the goofy AT&T apps & demos but "deleting not allowed".

Somehow I got the impression that the GPS was free and that if you wanted turn-by-turn THEN you had to sub-up - wrong! To use the nav you need to put in your phone number to log in and then you're in the 30-day trial period that you must remember to cancel if you choose not to continue.

Also, every spec sheet I saw on this phone indicated it had an FM radio (which I used daily while training horses) and it doesn't - it has XM but not FM.

All-in-all I really like the phone from a hardware and "feel" standpoint - and I personally don't have a problem with the keypad that some other folks do - but limited phone memory and AT&T app memory hogs may kill it for me.

If anyone has any suggestions regarding the memory issues I'm all ears ... maybe unbranding is the only solution.

do you guys wanna see pics of anything?... I might take a picture of the dangling cover thing so you guys can get a better idea of what I'm talking about...
so far I'm liking my S40 6267 better... if only the music player hadn't crapped out on me...

Ditto. Warms up, but not uncomfortably so. Same as my Nokia 6620 & my N75.
Seems to happen more often when I talk (BT headset) while driving long(er) distances, and less often when I talk while in one place.

I was at the store today messin with one, yea the buttons are kinda cramped, i accidently hit the gps button a few times. Overall i liked the phone.

Now if only ATT would pickup some s60 candybars and sliders!

I downloaded and installed QuickOffice's Adobe Reader LE 2.5 ... Only 20 bucks!... works like a charm!... I'm in smartphone heaven now!...

HELP. Can't get any of my Nokia Stereo headphones to work. They all play in just one ear. And even a 3.5mm adapter does the same thing. What adapter part number should I be looking for?

I'll fill in a few.
2. Playlist creation on phone, Yes
4. Works on a mac as a usb storage device, dunno about pc.
7. Gmail app is a pain due to no certs, always asking for net permission. Profimail is much better.
9. Bluetooth File transfer works on a mac and phone to phone, dunno about walmart.
11. Yes flight mode, called Offline.
Search for info on hacking the phone to run MagicKey the PTT and ATT Nav buttons on this phone are a pain. Hacking the phone is a good way to disable them.
The 6650 is pretty limited on memory. Watching how many apps you have running at the same time is the key to not getting Out of Memory errors.

The only issue there is that, if this is going to be a lifetime exclusive to a carrier, like the N75, it's highly possible that an unbranded firmware (that's newer than the branded one, anyways) will never be created.

I had never even heard of Nokia Internet Radio, and just downloaded the app. I cannot get it to do anything however. It opens, but when I try to look for any station it closes. I have the ATT branded phone, is there something I need to do in order for this to work?

- Shozu works
- PTT exists - in closed flip mode, the button next to volume control - I didn't activate it, don't need it
- Google Maps works with the GPS
- Photo GPS tagging works
- Camera is average (no better than the N75)
- The speaker IS soft, compared to the N75, and not half as clear - but it'll suffice.
- Plenty of out-of-memory errors, this is NOT a high-end N Series device :) (duh)
- The flat buttons SUCK - I cannot do anything without watching my fingers on the keypad - my fingers slide all over the buttons. Too RAZR like, in a bad way. Oh well, maybe i'll get used to it someday. At 10% the price of the N96, I guess I shouldn't complain. For now ;)

Garmin XT, Photos, screenshots etc ... later. I spent my time restoring apps, contacts and settings with nokia's PC Suite (which worked largely flawlessly)

G'night folks - more later, but not in a hurry - sorry. Hopefully someone more thorough buys this and posts screenshots/pix for those of you waiting!

WOW, what do you guys want for a phone priced at $60 or free? It's not perfect with the flat keys and limited ram. But for being well built with killer battery life, 3g, gps and more it's not bad for the money. And I'm not complaining I got it new no contract for $130.

One thing I am very disappointed with is that it won't play my music from my memory card. I came from a 6300 unlocked and I use it as a mp3 player and was looking forward to do the same with the 6650 but until I can upload european software I'm stuck with no music. Unless I'm wrong and someone can point out how to get my music from my memory card to read.
