]I bought a new 3200 before Christmas, I thought it would be great for watching and recording at the same time. Installed it in my entertainment unit and the first time it failed I FELT STUPID when Expressvu people started to tell me to disconnect cables they were on the phone, I was on my back I pulled everything apart, I have to admit they were very pleasant and helpfull. That was the first time, I have now called them many times,I have asked is my 3200 broken, "no sir you just lost your programing" I now have my 3200 in a bedroom where I can reach my cables and can reset it without instruction.
Then I found this forum, I am so surprised that so many people can have the same problem and Expressvu THINKS I was the only one that lost their programing.
I have read all the replies to this thread, and if I am not out of line would it be possible to hear, all the fixes we might have, and all the excuses you have had from Expressvu, and any satisfaction you have gotten from Expressvu,
and even what might be down the road for 3200 owners.
Thank You All

Everyone, hang in there!

I have 2 3200's, one took the update as soon as 107 came out, the other took it last night after daily freezing and resetting. Wait it will come, probably easier than pulling your hair out on the phone with Bell.

And yes, it is a huge improvement!

I just got a 3200 and tried to hook it up. I only installed one satellite input (#1) and the unit wouldn't lock onto the the satellites. So I phoned BEV. They told me that you need to install the two incoming satellite inputs as if you just hook up only one, the unit will not work. I was planning to hook up the other input at another time. Has anybody only hook up one satellite input and got it to work? If yes, how do you get it to work?

Thanks,

That's funny Bell says they are all recalled!
I just bought a 3220 system 1 week ago on Radio Shack.ca now called (the sourcecc.com). $99.00 for a cardless system.
Bell better activate it or I want my money back! These systems are brand new with the new chip not card system. These are only available online.

I noticed the other day that my 3200 is now at v103 software. I hope that this will be an improvement. Time will tell...

That is the same problem I am having. Too bad. Hopefully, they re-release the product soon.

HDTV101, I had a 3200 which would not take the V104 update as well! Same as you, the green status bar would never finish. I learned the trick I mentioned in my previous post and after trying it twice, the update took... Maybe I was just lucky???

I currently own 2 3100 receivers and have purchased a 3200 receiver last week. Does anyone know if I can replace my 2 dual LNBs (and the 2 SW21 switches) with a Dishpro Quad LNB such that I can connect all my receivers with my current 20" Bell dish?

Just got off the phone with BEV tech support (again) they said the current software in the stream is v107 ??? I asked if he was sure he said "OH yes it's definately 107" tried to update, but no success, the current software (see current software in the stream is v104 which I have. Anyone have a different version? I asked about AHD1 but he was unaware of it, but said that there is a new firmware coming out at the end of the month, looking back, I should have asked which month

Update. Just off the phone.

I talked to 2 levels of techs.

First guy (after making me listening to that horrid music for 15 mins) told me I needed to resync my remote. I quickly asked to be forwarded to the next level which he did.

The 2nd tech was much better, she was not very current on the 3200, but tried to help me.

She asked me to go to 615 which does nothing for us :) TV Modular set up.

So she asked me to go to the point dish, set the transponder 13 and wait 30 mins.

If it does not update they will send me another 3200. I will not take 2 3100's.

Thanks for these suggestions, I guess I will wait a week and see

Unfortunately if I turn both tuners off with the remote, the 3200 is now RELIABLY crashing - I am left with that floating screensaver, but with the float stuck - cant turn on

So I suspect it may be trying to DL the update, but doesnt seem to be able to load it
I am not seeing the download progress bar for an update that I used to see

After months where the 3200 worked well with 104, now crashing if I dont leave one of the 2 tuners always "on"

The 9200 is very stable. It will be among the most stable units that is brought to market. The new 3100 (currently modeled as 3101) has it's final software ready for release. They have learned from recent mistakes with the software for 3200, 5200 and E545 for the 51/58/5900 units. All new models will be more stable before they are brought to market.

An Updated V104 is now in the stream. Are you still having all the same problems with it?

I am at V122 and unfortenetely there is no option to not accept downloads on the 5200 like all the other models.

Update #2 the reset to default didn't do anythign same thing happened again at 11pm, called back and naturally the unit is out of warrenty, but the helpfull tech offered me a $30 discound on another unit.

I can't get this remote to work to change channels. The TV2 signal is stuck on one channel. This is the UHF remote and we don't have a UHF extender or whatever plugs into the back of the 3200 receiver. Do we need one of these? Is there any way to change the remote to an IR remote and just change the address of TV2 to a different one than TV1? Any help would be great. Thanks.

Jeff, mine is doing the same.

I unplugged it last night for a bit so I could reset it.

Watched tv till 11pm with no problems and then turned it off.
This morning its locked up again.

I just did the update thing, we'll see what happens.

Further to my orginal post above.

I called BEV a couple of days ago and complained about my 3200 yet again. They said that I should a have a new software update in two days... just wait. Well I'm still waiting and I'm still at v103. I've had this 3200 for several months now and I'm sick and tired of the troubles I'm having with it!!!!

I hope that others are having better luck... I'm not even sure that v104 will fix it at this point.

After reading this thread it was great to see I was not alone. My 3200 was indeed behaving quite badly for the past week. Daily freezes, waking up to non-recordings on Tuner 2(fed to DVDR)....you know the story. V107 is apparently the solution. Only problem. Machine will not take it. After two attempts, with different process, V107 will not apparently download. Level2 tech dispatched replacement hardware.

To re-iterate reciptrap's comments, the techs were VERY HELPFUL and quite polite. So they couldnt solve it...not the end of the world. New hardware on its way (at 107 I'm told...we'll see on that one :-))

In the interim, updates disabled on current hardware for stability.

For what its worth, here is what was tried.
round 1
setting to transponder 13 on 91 and 82
power cycled with no sat feeds
re-established sat feeds
overnight
no update taken

round 2
restored factory defaults
power cycled with no sat feeds
re-established sat feeds
hours waited
no update taken

memory dumps and other previous suggestions from forum tried as well.
Apparently this HW just does not want to take 107
