Offbeat Observations About Music

Singing Bobby Mcferrin's piece in the bathroom. There's always a measure or 2 with some bass note you can't play and you do some strange humming..goes great with the sound of the water.

One time when I was under the shower I raised my head to sing a high note loud and water started to fill my mouth and I choked in a weird way.

This is more of an amusing musical anecdote:

Ok, last Summer we had a cook out and I had the good old 'LEGEND' album playing in the background. Suddenly our youngest grand daughter stomps up and says,

"I'm not keen on this, can we have Hawaiian on".

Ok, I thought it was an unusual request but thought she may have been doing Hawaii at school or she may have seen it on 'Dora the Explorer' or something. After searching for about 10 minutes I found something vaguely Hawaiian and put it on. I asked her if that was ok...

"No", she said, "I wanted 'In the Jungle, Hawaiian Sleeps Tonight" like in 'the Lion King'.

Strange but true....

Gordon.

In Indiana, I guarantee if you go out to a bar you WILL hear Journey's 'Don't Stop Believing' before the end of the night.

In fact, there was an acoustic band playing last Thursday and they were playing a great selection. Then all the sudden I hear it. Yep....even with a live acoustic band I had to endure this song.

Oh, and the entire ****ing bar sings along to it.

i wonder who's going to play with Peter Hook on his upcoming tour of Joy Division's Unknown pleasures. Should be a good night though 'cause he's taking questions. I think he's the most innovative bass player in rock...well of the ones i've heard

I take offense to this comment.

Tina Weymouth? Carol Kaye? Kira Roessler?

I still consider Kim Deal a solid bassist even if you don't, I don't think Kim Gordon is bad either, her playing isn't very audible until later recorRAB but I think she's better than you give her credit for.
