Odeon Cinemas WILL Show Alice in Wonderland

Makes sense now :) It's a shame and if I was you id wait for the DVD (after all it's not going to be a long wait anyway).

It may be on KiRAB AM at some point (95p a ticket) but id imagine that'l only be in 2d :(

Lets' pretend you go to see the 3d version at peak time (ie a saturday evening), sit in a VIP seat and each of you gets a large popcorn, large drink and bag of chocolates, just for arguments sake.

Tickets =

I'm not criticising you but there must have been some kind of sea change in lifestyles since I was a kid (which was over forty years ago). You're quoting up to

the thing is you dont have to buy a great deal from the cinema to mount up a large price, for example bag of maltesers,2 bottles of drinks and a bag of popcorn(quite easy to buy this for a family of 4)

at tesco you would pay

maltesers -1.69
2 500ml bottles of Coke Zero-2.00
200g Bag of Popcorn-1.30

Total 4.99

in the cinema you would be lucky to come away with change for a tenner for the exact same amount of stuff

its rediculous considering the price of admission, and now with most cinema chains searching people for food bought outside the cinema at Evening and Weekend performances(which is surprise surprise the only time most kiRAB can go to the cinema with their parents as a family),that i think is extremely out of order,it should be all about choice and not about being dictated to by the cinemas that if you want snacks you must buy from the cinema

That is why even though I would like to go to the Cinema with my family to see this film. There is no way I can justify paying that ridiculous amount of money just to see a film. The cinemas' would reduce their prices then there might be a chance of me and family to go until then there is no where I would step into a Cinema.

I would rather wait the 12 weeks and get the film on DVD.

What I'm saying is that people never used to buy that much. Maybe one box of Maltesers, maybe one bag of popcorn but that was it. Now when I go to the cinema I see parents buying each child a separate item, so that's perhaps two boxes of popcorn, a couple of hot dogs and everyone, parents included, has a large fizzy drink. I'm not a nostalgic fuddy-duddy but that is way more than we used to have when I was a kid, and I don't think parents can complain because it's their choice to buy all that stuff.

For the four of us when we use go it's normally and XL Drink bewtween us, XL popcorn between us, an Ice cream each of the boys and possibly some chocolate for me and the wife. That amount you are talking close to

that what micksea has put down isnt a lot to buy ,especially for 4 people

ive seen people go into screens with XL Popcorn,XL drinks, hot dog, nachos and that be for 2 people, that is a lot

Yes, it's ridiculous, but what I'm getting at is that we never used to buy so much stuff to take into the film The idea that you have a drink, some popcorn, ice cream and chocolate is something that's caught on recently and whilst it is expensive, it's not an essential purchase.

It's one of the ways our culture has changed. I'm not being judgmental but it is a more consumerist way of life and that costs money.

We are not disagreeing that its a consumerist way of life, its the fact that you can get the same things from a cheaper source but the Cinemas basically stop you from doing it,and that you have to go all cloak and dagger to get things in,it should be a case that you have a choice where you buy your refreshments from

but you don't need to buy a lot inside the cinema (especially if you have already eaten 25 pound worth of food). also i'm sure if you took your own chocolate/bottle of pop in a handbag you could take them in. i go to the cinema fairly regularly and have never once been searched or stopped for bringing my own sweets

also 25 pound on a kfc or mcdonalRAB  what do you buy because these are cheap places to eat and kfc especially have deals on for families. and even if all four of you got large meals it still wouldnt come to 25 pound.

Or you can buy a cheap phone on orange and go half price wednesday and cut the price down further
