Nurture versus nature - is it culture or destiny and genetic?

The way the kid is taught at home, school, and church or temple; or if any are missing. Things like hate are not just learned, nor in born. A family can have many different friends but the child can grow to hate one or two these friends by the actions of the friends toward the kid. My one aunt was loved by all except me: she always tormented and made fun of me and I hated her for it to the day she died. And all she and everyone else saw was she was being funny. It was no fun for me.

Both.
But i always go for nurture over nature.
Some is in genetics, but a lot is to do with our environment.

it is definitely BOTH ∙

you need to nurture, based upon the deck of cards nature has dealt

raising 2 different people the exact same way will result in wildly different results

I would have to say a mix of both. Mostly, however, it would be the environment the child grew up in. He/she would see the world and deal with everyday life the way he/she learned it as a child (general rule). Of course, it goes without saying that individual choices play the most important part of success in one's life.
