Nudity in Film

The new Die Hard? If so, it's the only PG-13 of the bunch, I believe. It's funny that they were able to use some type of nudity considering less popular movies get the R rating for nothing.

And yes, unnecessary nudity is so annoying.

honestly if i was an actress and i had a great body. i would show some skin too.

I guess I don't mind too much - as long as my mother isn't in the room ;) But I don't see why nudity is needed in films at all. Unless you're doing a documentary on the human body, there is absolutely no film on earth that calls for nudity in any respect, and no way at all that it "adds" to the film. It's just gratuitous, end of story.

I think that actually does cause a bit of jealousy and tension between couples. I don't think I'd mind that much really, as long as I didn't think there was something going on between them off camera....that's a different story....but unless you're worried it's more than acting I see no reason to have a problem with it. Acting is a very strange occupation and sometimes that comes with the territory.

I always wonder what their SPOUSES think. I would NOT be ok with my wife rolling around on a bed simulating sex, even if it were part of the "job."

Some very good points, a little graphic but... I believe that nudity is natural but shocking. It's not the same seeing a woman, than a naked woman, a man than a naked man. It's different, there's a sense of being "powerless", at least that's how I see it; ergo the "feeling naked" phrase. :)

I do believe children should be taught to see nudity as natural but movies sometimes are not the best tool to teach kids something as delicate.

Do they show ----- in R rated movies? I know they'll show boobs and other places on females (can you say p**** on Fan Forum? ), but only when it's "artsy" it seems. I've never actually seem them show penetration unless it's a porno and I would really call a porno a "film."

I'm used to a lot of cheap female nudity in a lot of movies, so it doesn't even phase me, but lately there has been quite a bit of male nudity going around (or at least in the movies I've seen over the past two years  ). I know my mother certainly is enjoying this trend.

I dont mind it too much, though when I saw Velvet goldmine with my friend Kati and we saw Ewan McGregor's full monty, I was just shocked and well couldnt stop laughing. I just always pictured him like on Moulin Rouge and Star Wars, a romantic serious/funny guy.

How do you guys feel about film nudity?

I must admit I don't like watching my favorite actors nude in films. Movies like Cold Mountain, A Walk on the Moon and In the Cut feature some of my all time favorite actors naked and I have such a difficult time getting past it.

I'm not really that "paranoid" about unknown actors but I would prefer immensily that the nude scenes really add to the movie, otherwise I'm weirded out.

For example, The Dreamers benefits nicely from the nudity and, pure Bertolucci, from the raw exposure physically and emotionally of its stars. It's a lovely take on idealistic youth. Same with a movie like Unfaithful.

On the other hand, I obsessively love Jerry Maguire but I could've been happy without the somewhat explicit sex scene including mild nudity. It's such a shock after a sweet, family oriented (okay, I'm stretching but) scene.
