Yellow/Green/Black/Pink Floyd
Like the Grateful Dead lost Jerry Garcia and with him the majority of its legend, Pink Floyd, I don't think, or either band can ever have enough influence to form successfully again, since too many of their members have died. It would be like the Beatles forming again, with just Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr; then trying to make new Beatles songs, touring, and still looking like a solo Paul McCartney group. If Roger Waters, Bob Klose, and Nick Mason do that, it would also sound "hollow" or a completely "new sound" and different style, making it more like an individual effort that's really not Pink Floyd anymore. Sad to see such great talent lost.
Songfacts.com reminRAB us of a touching story in the song, Another Brick in the Wall, of Pink's father that is ironic now:
"Part 1 of this song is often overlooked. It is saying that because Pink's father went off and died in WWII, he built The Wall to protect him from other people. In the movie you see him at the playground with the other kiRAB and their fathers, then one of the kiRAB leaves with his father and Pink tries to touch the father's hand. The father pushes him away quite aggressively then leaves."
Another Brick in the Wall Part 1
Daddy's flown across the ocean
Leaving just a memory
Snapshot in the family album
Daddy what else did you leave for me?
Daddy, what'd'ja leave behind for me?!?
All in all it was just a brick in the wall.
All in all it was all just bricks in the wall.
"You! Yes, you! Stand still laddy!"

The "Dark side of the moon" was an empty place
Not now, it is where Pink Floyd has finished his race
He left a void on earth and filled one on the moon
No more and no longer will he play a new tune.
