Ok, for some time now firmware V20 for the N93 has been held back, Nokia finally gave an answer: http://discussions.europe.nokia.com/discussions/board/message?board.id=swupdate&message.id=5886

Dear Updaters
There has been much talk and speculation about the Nokia N93 and the Nokia Software Updater, so here are the facts.
N93 release V2.0 was first made available to the public on 16 October. We monitor update statistics and noticed an unacceptably high number of potential update failures being reported. This was also matched by a high number of posts in these boards about customers claiming to have problems and some ending up with devices which could not be switched on again.
These two factors meant our only option was to disable the product temporarily while investigations took place - that was on 3 November, and our investigations are still continuing. There are technical differences between updating using Nokia Software Updater and updating in a service point - the only problems are updating with NSU.
We are studying ways to rectify the situation in a satisfactory manner, and hope to be able to offer software updates for the N93 in early 2007.
We apologize for the inconvenience, frustration and disappointment caused.
Regards
The Nokia Software Update team

I highlighted the things that I found interesting.
So updates will be available in early 2007. I did find it interesting that they say: "There are technical differences between updating using Nokia Software Updater and updating in a service point - the only problems are updating with NSU.
They also said they monitored and had seen that there are many failures, I wonder if they meant looking in these forums.
Intersting piece of text and it does clear things a bit.
