NOKIA E71: needs Chinese language support

The font that I included was from my E61i so it was the native Nokia APEC fonts. It support all TC and SC characters. I had not have any problem so far. Sorry about your site but sometime, it happens.
 
Thanks a lot for the intruction. I have installed Chinese font on my E63-2 without problem. But for the A4 input software, it seems that the website www.a4user.com is down. Anybody know any other sites we can get A4? Thanks.
 
I have chinese/japanese/korean working on the -7 by using fontrouter and using the 22mb "arialuni.ttf" (You have to edit the arial font properties to get it to work and rename it to nohindisnr60.ttf to get it to work) from office 07. Most pages using unicode encoding works great, but sites using big-5, shift-jis etc doesnt work.
Would a fix be possible to add those encoding types to the browser?
 
Thanks for your prompt reply, I figured out that the web browser of E71-1 only supports Chinese website in unicode, if the website is built based on Chinese code such as GB1532 or BIG5, it can't display.
 
I am trying to flash my E71-1 to Singapore Chinese version. After going through NSS, I could not update the firmware because Nokia software update stated that there is no newer software to upgrade. When I Was using the E90, I could reinstall the software even though it has the latest firmware but now it seems that I could not do so. Please Help!!! I am using Vodafone UK
 
Hey guys, I followed all these instructions to a T on my Nokia E71-2(236.03) and everything seems to be working fine, I can read chinese and the font is set to arial bold

However something happend to my space bar???? on the E71 when im trying to send a text message or type when I hit the space bar it gives me the symbol list and I have to choose space from the list every time.... is there an way I can get my spacebar back to normal functionality?

one more question, the English fonts seem to be changed a little bit after I install the fontrouter, can I use original English fonts and use the fontrouter just for Chinese?

Mavericke, i got me here the same situation. Just bought a E71 and was trying to get the chinese language installed on it as the same eay I did with my E90(with NSS and NSU) but it says already newest formware. What should I do?
 
I had E61i, E51, iPhone 3G and now, E71. I am happy to report that you need not re-flash your E71-2 firmware to get the US 3G version to read and write Chinese both SC/TC. Here is what you do.

1. Go to this link at my site to download the entire file.

2. Unzip it into 4 files. There are:

1. S60SC.CCC
2. S60TCHK.CCC
3. FontRouter.ini
4. FontRouter.LT.for.v9.Built200xxxx.sis

1st two files are the fonts that I had from my E51 Chinese version.

3rd file is the setting file. You can learned about changing the font size at later time. For now, just leave it along. Do nothing. It's fine the way it is.

4th are the application that you will need to sign and install into your E71 internal drive c:.

I use my Mac's bluetooth browser to see the E71's c drive. You should be able to see a folder names "Data". Open it, created a folder inside this data folder named "Fonts".

Copy (drag) 1st, 2nd and 3rd file over to the Fonts folder.

4. Open this link below to sign the 4th item. You will need your IMEI number handy. To get your IMEI number, at the home screen, press *#06# and write it down.

Once your complete this application and uploaded the 4th application, you shall received a email shortly to inform you about the receiving of your request.

Check your email and use the link provided from this mail to confirm of your receiving of this email.

Check your email in about 5 minutes, you should get another mail to inform you about the success of signing. Use the link provided from the 2nd email to download the signed (ready to install) application.

I then, bluetooth this signed 4th item to my phone. I then, open it up and Install it to the drive c: on your phone.

Reboot the phone and enjoy.

Let me know if you need more assistant. Remember, don't flash your E71-2 with E71-1 firmware, the 3/3.5G radio might not work if you do. So far, the 3/3.5G speed are amazing compares to E51 in the USA with Edge and Slow E61i with everything else.

My AT&T iPhone 3G being sitting in my draw for the past month collecting dust. Maybe one of these day, I will take it out and play with it again.

So far, my data plan be scaled back from $30 iPhone plan to normal $15 unlimited plan which saved me $15. Not to say I care about the saving, I just think when we chose to use a Smart phone, we should have the option to do what we like, like Bluetooth sync, BT file transfer, multi-task etc...

Apple, apple, apple, whatever you are doing, it's for the average consumer, for power users, you missed the point all together.

So far, the E71 works flawless. Love the speed of the OS compares to the E61i. Love the fast data speed and Fring, Gizmo which I can use for VOIP, and Skype and many other more. The fonts that I included were the native Nokia fonts so it has to be the same but the size are smaller. I managed to change to zoom ratio to between 115 to 120 which are similar in size but thicker. Easier to see on the smaller screen compares to the original fonts.
