NOKIA E71: needs Chinese language support

Hi Evilgabbie, could you teach me step by step how to flash and what equipment do I need to use?
Also, does the US 3G work after flashing? Any bugs? Thank you.

I installed psiloc crystal chinese, works great, you can read and type text messages, but receiving text in chinese doesn't work. The other thing is it seems to crash my e71 quite a bit. I have mail for exchange on and it tend to crash at times when I make a phone call.

badghost, which font do you use? I've even tried the 22mb Arial Unicode and it still didn't work.
Can you send me the font you're using and some instructions?
TIA

Edit: Also if anyone has the original E71-1 fonts from the Z drive, I would like those too.

here are the files. :D

is there a way to input traditional chinese with the Zhuyin input? i'm using the A4 file and see no way to input traditional chinese other then simplified.

Soooo...anyone know how to get zhuyin/bopomofo input on the e71 without flashing it? I used achang's instructions on chinese output (fontrunner), and that works great. Pinyin input with A4 works fine, too. I just want zhuyin/bopomofo input that outputs traditional characters!

I use it with an N95-3. If I have SkyeQuiKey running at the same time as Psiloc Crystal Chinese, my phone has the same behaviour (crashes when I make a phone call). If I disable SkyeQuiKey that issue doesn't come up. I've contacted both Psiloc and Skyestream (the makers of SkyeQuiKey) about this. In the meanwhile, I just use one or the other. Not ideal by any means, but it works.

Receiving text messages and email in Chinese works fine for me.

Ok go the A4 install working. In the text message input how do i write in pinyin? The default in the top right corner shows pinyin but when i press space bar it shows me a table of characters (. , $ % ^) not the chinese ones. what do i do?

Thanks AC, the Chinese fonts work great for my E71, now I can view the text transferred from my old China mobile E62. However, when I try to view www.sina.com.cn, the web page still displays weird characters, is there anywhere I can change the encoding for the web browser? Or the fonts doesn't support Chinese website well?

I have installed font router with AC's files, chinese read works for the most part.
However, in the contact list synced up with outlook via nokia PC suite, the chinese chars in the contact entry is not shown in the phone.
It is still in codes.

Any workaround?

Thanks.

i didn't use NSS / Cracked Phoenix... used purchased equipment..

but w/ NSS / Phoenix, you can try to change product code + RM version and then update OR download pack from online and use Phoenix to flash E71-1 files
