Nokia E50 combines high functionality and stylish design with a very good size for a smartphone, but a very uncomfortable to use keypad and slow navigation through the menus, which affects the usage of the phone as a whole. In order to make the phone very stylish and suitable for business users, Nokia has decided to use a powerful battery, a good looking display and metal parts, but the sound quality and the speed performance are something to complain about ? and these are things very important to the business user...

i dont know why you can't post the review here, that is if you made the review... but if that's your site, it sure crawls... and pimping sucks!

and i also disagree with your opinion on the keypads, if you have used 6210 or 6310i before, then E50 has basically the same keys as those legendary nokias mentioned... thereby, i dont understand why would the keypad sucks...
 
I have to disagree with some of your conclusions too.. and I think you left a few things out.

The E50 isn't going to replace an iPod, but it can do a lot of things an iPod can't do, such as streaming audio and video. To that end, I wish you had tried some streaming audio/video (via realplayer or mobilcast) and reported on that. And I also wish you had run a speed test on the mobile dslreports site (assuming you're on a halfway decent network) to let us know how the speed was.

IMO, not a bad review, but very, very average. I'm still gonna wait for Andy's review to make my decision.
 
It looks like it would be good but if you see it next to that pebl it looks like pressing the menu button could be a challenge. The keys are so clean and even I can see some mis presses with big pudgy fingers...i've had the 8801 for a year and still make some incorrect presses.....and you 8801 users out there that claim you never hit the wrong key then your hand must be a skeleton. Anyway, it's the smallest s60 and if it had a camera would become the ultimate back-up to my E61....aside from no 850 at this time.
 
i am very picky when it comes to keypad, and just an hour or so use, i can always make up my mind if it has a good or a bad keypad and i have been a nokia user for a long a time, both s40 and s60 and i say the keypads are great, it might not be the best, but to me it is comparable to 6310i and e60...
 
I have the phone, BB connect does not work, the install completes but 'Blackberry' never appeares under 'Messages > Options > Settings > Email'.
 
its really is a nice phone, i would have bought it 3 days ago, unfortunately all the E50 available at the moment are those with camera, and since i cant use a phone-cam at work at the moment, i simply refuse to buy it since i want to be able to use it extensively...
 
Andy got the phone and should be reviewing the unit. However, it did not pass his nit-picks but not because the phone was not good. I think he simply realized he does not need/want a smartphone.

saw a nokia rep yesterday and had a look at one. didnt give it an etensive try but looked good. great styling, good size.

should be getting one next week - will offer some further advce then
 
played with one yesterday.. keypad is great, joystick is good.. nice little phone.. the screen looked kinda dull/pixelated compared to the the other e/n series.

nice solid feel.. my first thought.. was maybe this phone would be used to convert all the 6230b lovers to s60.

menu speed was decent but felt a touch slower then the n73

otherwise nothing really special it's one of the more boring, "down to earth" s60 phones i've seen but it is smaller and the build is solid.. no creaking plastic like the n73 etc...
 
lol. Boring and down to earth . Sounds like my kind of phone. Its just too bad that I'll have to wait for the price to drop to $100-$150 before I buy it. Until than I am stuck with my trusty 6610.
