Nokia 5800 XM NAM(850/1900): Reviews, Issues, Tips, Tricks & Support Thread!!

When I imported my bookmarks, it threw ALL of them into the Nokia Web RSS feeds section. Still haven't figured out how to get them moved properly, but I can at least check my RSS feeds

Yes i need zip manager so i can open zip files on my phones. Many apps come zipped. The download folder has been empty ever since ovi store released. I've gone thru this many times already with people telling me its in the download app. Some even say its in there under your saved downloads. But it just isn't there for me.

Its utterly poor execution for nokia to launch ovi store and not put everything into the ovi store that used to be in the download folder. I've been looking for zip for months now.

I'll check nokia's support page again.

The v30/31 FW never made it to the NAM 5800 actually and a large percentage of reports say its really buggy.... So Nokia pulled it.
V21 is good...

Not everyone who got Nokia 5800's (unbranded or from Rogers) got those types of headphones. Many of the Nokia 5800's were shipped with the older style HS-45/AD-54 black headphones and remote that are identical to the ones that were iincluded with the N95 8GB. My Rogers Nokia 5800 headphones (came to me sealed directly from Rogers) look nothing like either of those pictures.

Both WEP and WPA use one passkey, but he's talking about username/password so it's something else and if that's the case actually many devices won't support that.

that's a very good suggestion and may be i will do that when i find some time. but if i didn't express my feelings then what's the point of having a forum like this or even a thread with this title "Nokia 5800 XM NAM(850/1900): Reviews, Issues, Tips, Tricks & Support Thread" ?

I did receive an e-mail from Nokia in November informing me that before the end of the month there would be a firmware update for my E75. It was Late Feb/Early March before it actually landed on my phone.

They DO make announcements, and they DO follow through. I'll explain more in 2 or 3 months, Nokia time.

here's the deal on that...

1) its SUPPOSED to work, yes, but it probably wont be flawless. steve litchfield from allaboutsymbian does it with apparent success but ive never gotten it to work flawlessly.

2) it wont overwrite any FIRMWARE files that i know of but it will be installing "preinstallled" apps which IMHO isnt a good idea.

i would just hard reset and reinstall all programs. works better it seems
