i NEVER thought of using my phone like that, but maybe i'll try ;) you could even take it in the shower with you if you got one of those water and dust resistant models from Sony Ericsson :buddies:
 
if i go to voice guidance it shows a whole list of voice that i can download from the net, but it didn't show the one with TTS, i used the ovi suite to download the TTS guidance already and it's showing up when i check it on my memory card, but it just won't show up on the map app. :crying:
 
Unfortunately I'm on the latest NAM firmware. Maybe I'll just add a shortcut to the home screen for now and hope next FW fixes it. Very sad though.
 
I turned A-GPS off when I got the 5800 and it's still off after updating to v40. That's the first thing I checked. That's why I need an application that can tell me which application initiated the data connection. Any ideas anyone?
 
Thanks Roger, I feel a lot better, again I have had no issues with it so far but with the bitter n97 experience I wanted to be a lil careful. With handy taskman info, I am running at 47M of C and 36.3M of Ram. I did reset the google maps but that did not make any difference. Do I need to tweak things more??
 
Yar. It's really annoying that Pandora has released apps for iPhone, BlackBerry and WinMo but not S60! Why is S60 so uncool :(

Hopefully SkyFire finishes the version for 5800 and Pandora will work on that.
 
I just performed the firmware update over the air. It went smooth. The phone seems fine. I can't say more than that now since I'm charging the phone. Posted from N79.
 
What is your phone's product code?

v4.0 is not out for NAM (North American Model) phones (only APAC/Europe).

You should be able to get something newer than v21 (most NAM product codes are at v31.x.101), but really there's not much of an improvement, so if your phone is working fine now, just wait for v4.0 to hit NAM.
 
does anybody know when the next firmware update will come out? this phone is mad bugged
is anyone having problems with when someone texts u, even if their saved under ur contact list, it doesnt show, it just shows their number?
 
Another bug is the RDS feature in the radio no longer works properply. Havent had any issues with Ovi Store though, even after updating it.
 
I think it's nice features to have RSS feeds added to the contact bar.
I have added Facebook feeds of my 3 friends and notification feed of my own FB, so I can see all without going into FB.
 
Right on the nail, thats basically my question. Official SUPPORT is the issue to here. If it seems this phone wont get much nurture in the future I d rather look for another phone. Well.. i can afford a bit more expensive one if it really worth than this.

Whats the point buying a "virtually" dead phone anyway? :befuddled

But guys I need a good phone like this. Please recomend something with (and more) features like this one.
