Nokia 5800 XM NAM(850/1900): Reviews, Issues, Tips, Tricks & Support Thread!!

what's the best screen protector for this phone? i usually just use clarivue's but, there's no picture of it. anyone have theirs? i want one that covers everything on the screen (has holes for buttons, speaker). i'll probably need something for the camera lens as well since there's no cover.

Need some help with the voice recorder. How come I cant access my voice recordings from within the application? If I go to "options" > "go to gallery", the only thing listed is "downld. sounds" Tried using both the memory card and the phone memory in settings. None of my recordings show up. Did a manual search of the memory and found them being stored in the data folder.

Yeah. The white/middle button still works. I can access my contacts(and other apps) from there but there's no way I can make a call if it they are not on my contact list

Why is the USB wire 8in long? I'm so confused by this :befuddled

Why are my Nokia Multimedia Transfers (mac) so slooowwww. 700mb (10 vids..some are 5 mins long and others are 40 mins long)..takes 45 minutes? Can someone give me a pointer maybe that I'm missing :buddies:

How is everyone's battery life? I find that it seems to deplete the battery too quick. And also the battery meter is more inaccurate than other nokia phone's i've used. It will go from 5 bars to 1 bar in an instant, and then actually die completely.

The first day i got the phone i didn't follow the instructions and didn't charge it right away. So now it seems like the battery meter is not calibrated properly. Is there any way to recalibrate the battery meter?

For me it's not about getting used to over time. I liked everything about N series phones except for call logs and lack of Smart Dialing . For most it might be a minor issue but unfortunately, I see them as basic features even in a dumb phone. I call a lot while I drive (DC Metro rush hour relief :) ) and these are the features that matter to me the most as calling so much easier than have to open contacts all the time.

Nokia is a leader in this market and I am surprised they still didn't care to have Smart Dialing or call logs issues resolved. I will jump back to symbian without second thought once those two issues are non existent. I hope they will take care of these issues in N97.
