Nokia 5800 XM NAM(850/1900): Reviews, Issues, Tips, Tricks & Support Thread!!

Clicking small check boxes. May be for the paint app. Not much really. I use it for brain evolution lol i don't use it for anything else

i think it's ok. since it's not optimized for the 5800. you run into memory errors way more than with the n97. and that's with not running a widget. if i run the facebook widget then it sucks lol

i'm hoping for better fw to come up that irons out a lot more of the bugs before i flash back. well i'll probably get an n8 so i probably won't.

cool beans glad you figured it out!!!

anyways my gmail is 2.0.6.1269, but I use the the nokia browser and goto "mail.google.com" which is faster that the application....

Where do i find and download the free version of quickoffice? I keep reading that you do it through Download but that has been replaced with ovi store. I just need the read only version.

I never said that it was new, all I said was that the N97 has it and we do not!!! As for your other DRIVEL I could care less about that!!!!All I was stating is if they can put it on one touch screen why not both since they are suppose to be running the same software!!!! Nuff said.

Yeah i use bluetooth as wall cause its so easy you don't even have to do anything. Just turn on bluetooth on your phone, then just click connect on the computer and it does the rest. Of course you have to pair your phone the first time initially. The usb cable is faster connection but for my browsing it makes no difference to me.

I just noticed, on the 5530 the stylus slot has been moved to the side of the phone and not the back cover, which could explain why it's missing on the back cover of this mystery 5800 too.

Or it could be capacitive...we'll just have to wait and see.

You can backup either from the built-in file manager, or using PC/Ovi Suite (I usually do both). However, if your problem is software related, you might just backup and restore the problem itself.

Sounds to me like you have already spent more time troubleshooting than it would have taken to just wipe and re-load.

Got my 5800 NAM this week, try to install Garmin Mobile XT on it. During installation process, it warns me its not compatible with phone, but I see people got Garmin to run on their 5800. Is it because its NAM?

Hmm... why is it that all the sounds that my apps install end up in my Music library?

Am I supposed to put my mp3 files into a certain folder to keep it from getting mixed up with my "fringtones" and "messagealerts"? It's pretty annoying that they show up in the Music Player.

none of the firmwares had a working scroll bar. they had it where it would show up when you were scrolling to see where you are, but you can't use it to scroll at all. it's like useless being there.

if you know where you should be, i would just use opera in overview mode, flick to some area you think you need to be, then zoom in to where you think you should be and go from there. that way you're not flicking forever.

Ok ao I updated yesterday via NSU to version 31.2.101 from 31.2.008. Everything was all good till then. I no longer have access to WiFi or Packet Data. The option to choose an access point or network destination is just not in this firmware I got. I can tether to my laptop for data, which is what I'm doing now, but the handset itself has no access to any type of data. MMS no longer works either. If I go to settings/connectivity, WiFi is no longer in the list. Under Destinations, it says no data. WHAT THE F**K do I do know? Has this happened to anyone else? I've reinstalled the firmware twice.
