Nissan Altima 2004 2.5S - Car Audio question?

I have been looking around for a new audio system that is Ipod ready. I am not sure what kind of audio receivers i should be looking for. Is there a specific kind? Are there Ipod ready recievers out there that are for this car? I found a Sony at target for around $150. I just wanna find out if it will take any kind of receiver and how exactly to tell.

Also, would i need to buy another face plate for the new stereo? Thanks for all the helpful answers so far!
 
yeah alpine and pioneer and clarion make much better receivers in my opinion. try crutchfield.com.
they'll give the accessories u need. also the ipod will be with a headphone input jack (feeding signal into the stereo) or a cable that u can buy separately.
or keep the stock stereo and just get a ipod integration kit for the car from scosche or soundgate. crutchfield has those as well.
