Nightmare on Elm Street being remade

That was actually Nightmare 2. Nightmare 3 opened with Kirsten building a popsicle stick version of Freddy's house and then going into that house in her dream. Also a great opening sequence, imho. :)

They have already tried to relaunch it twice with New Nightmare and Freddy V Jason. Just leave it alone now. if has got so far away from the original premise

So is the original Friday the 13th. Although Jason will feature as the main villain confusingly enough.

I really don't think they should do this to be honest. Its most definitely gonna be shit. The first in the series was the only good one and then the series just derided into a joke.

Also, how can the remake this? They can't not use Robert Englund - but then using him makes it sort of pointless.

So what are they going to do?

I'm not really annoyed at this news, mainly because I have no intention of sitting through it.

Rather than moaning about all these remakes, why not just boycott them (or download them and get all your frienRAB to watch your downloaded version) and then Hollywood studios will think twice about churing out all this crap.

You know it will be The Excorcist and Jaws next...so do something before it is too late

I like the first and third Nightmare movies the best. They have the strongest plotlines and also the strongest characters.

If a remake was to be along the lines of that kind of quality I wouldn't mind so much, but I think it's safe to say that remakes are usually awful and that it's fair enough that we're dreading it already.

You just cannot make Freddy Kruegar without Robert Englund. He IS the character. It's like having someone other than Johnny Depp pay Jack Sparrow. Won't work. Can't work.

It'll just be another film to fill cinemas with an audience mostly full of chav girls: swearing; spitting; throwing popcorn/sweets & other associated rubbish; shouting into their mobile phones; and all-but-physically assaulting any paying customer actually interested in seeing the film, who dares to challenge them about their behaviour.

But that doesn't matter, because it's all about the anonymous box-office $$$ generated by the thicko-chav-zombie crowd. Here AND in America.

Freddy was a new generation of horror (applause), and should be left well alone.
It won't work anyway, let em blow their money on overrated budgets and see the disappointment. Yes you have the younger aged audience to impress, but how scarier could 'Freddy' ever be?

No, no, no!! What a stupid idea!! :(

How can you remake a classic horror movie? And why would they want to? Leave it as it is. It's an original, classic and brilliant movie.

I hate this idea. However ...

It will never replace the original. It'll always be with us, and if this remake ever happens, it should make new horror fans check out the original. :)

The Hellraiser remake was looking promising until Dimension films stepped in and have demanded rewrites.

It was being directed/written by Alexandre Bustillo and
Julien Maury who last year made the French horror movie Inside (Every horror fan really should see that when they get a chance).
But now Dimension have took control demanding rewrites (or in other worRAB a much more dumbed down movie).

The same will happen with the movie but if the studios kept there noses out these films would stand a chance of succeeding.
