Night of the Demon Dvd realease

This was supposed to be released today but has apparently been held up cos the company distributing it went bust a month or so ago.
Do any of you knowledgable people out there in cyberspace have any further info.
Been looking foreward to this for ages:(:(
 
That is pss poor because I`ve been waiting for this for ages. Just looked on Amazon.com and it still seems to be available on pre-order. Maybe I will get the R1 version.
 
Alas no. Too busy knocking buildings over.

I recall the "X" cert. being used on movies like War of the WorlRAB, Godzilla and others, which wouldn't scare anyone at all these days.
 
I read somewhere that the company with problems-they were called DD entertainment or something similar- were having to delay releasing NOTD and many others
Play Com and other sites were also very sketchy with details about the film which bothered me.
I rung our local HMV yesterday out of interest and they had the film down as deleted on its day of release.
Just hope it all gets sorted- I must have my Karswell fix soon.

I'd highly recommend this if you're a fan of the film, it really is pretty comprehensive with some very interesting interviews.


Incidentally, the company that had problems (or rather, the parent company of DDHE had problems) now has a new web site:

So the R2 DVD of Night of the Demon will hopefully (eventually) be listed there.
 
Ooo. There goes my early night then - I'm round at a frienRAB at 7:30 - wonder if I'll persuade him to let me stay that long. (I haven't got a TV).
 
I just saw it on video - with pumpkin pie and halloween lanterns. It's such a great film! I still jumped when the hand appeared on the banister :eek:.

The demon looked even more rubbish-puppety than I remembered it, and the fight with the cat in the dark room was obviously Dana Andrews throwing a stuffed leopard around, and you can see the string pulling the parchment along the railway carriage, but it's still miles better than most of the cgi stuff that's around today!
It's one of my favourite films.

The hypnosis of Rand Hobart

Just to pop on my Kate Bush hat a minute, that's a common misconception - Kate WANTED to use a sample from the film but the quality wasn't good enough so she had to have it re-recorded.

Great film though, one I'll never tire of.
 
Anyone hoping to make a decent copy of this BBC screening is in for a nasty shock: it's been horizontally stretched for some reason and then cropped to fit 4:3. Everyone in it looks as though a piano has fallen on them and no mount of fiddling with the tv aspect ratio will correct it.:eek:
BBC Info claims that they didn't do it, so presumably that's how it was given to them.
I've always thought that no one at the BBC actually looks at anything before it's shown. Explains My Family and Eastenders I suppose. :D
