NHL Centre Ice - 2009-2010

Oilers/Bruins game was available in HD on Bell. The guide did not show it until the 3rd period, but it was on from the start. A terrible looking feed from Boston though.

Granted the guide is not usually correct, but it's usually pretty dead-on for CI.

Seems like Bell's doing something weird on CI tonight. 2 HD games tonight on NHLHD 5 and 6 only? The late game tonight in LA on NHLHD 6 is JIP at 9 if the Dallas game runs late. Huh?

Checking-out the SD channels, they're only using 431 and higher all day too.

Seems like Olympic bandwidth issues to me...

Thanks for the info. I did not have a code when I logged in and after a call to Bell I found out what the problem was....she said even though I thought I did a self serve order for NHL Center Ice it was not showing up as subscribed on my account. So I asked her to set me up and the next day my access code was available and I was able to subscribe to Game Center.
Weird that the self serve didn't take especially after I got the prompt thanking me for my order but all is good now :)

Has anyone figured out how to access the free NHL GameCenter account that comes with NHL Center ICE? I called but the CSR had no idea what I was talking about of course.

Sportsnet that showed the Oilers game did not broadcast it in HD.

The Habs game wasn`t in HD last night. I watched the SD CI channel

ok thanks
maybe they'll be nice and show the fsn-d hd on CI (if the game will even be shown there).

doubtful i guess.

After the first $7.20 credit was applied, none of the following 2 were. I called them last week and they applied 3 - $7.20 credits, just in case the 4th payment doesn't get credited. Watch those bills!

I am wondering this too. I asked the guy when I order CI and he said you use tvonline.bell.ca and login through your Bell online account. But to me that sounds like the way it maybe used to work.

I've tried it and it doesn't seem to work. Doesn't seem like anyone knows how it works yet.

Free preview. Begins Sept 14th. Actual games don't air until Sept 18th. Sens-Habs is on RDS in HD. Not on Centre Ice.

Boo...

I am watching CI with a different provider, are BEV customers receiving the MSGHD feed? newJersey/Pittsburgh game?

I think even a Devils game from MSG was shown in HD-CI on the weekend. As a fan of a New York team, I am very happy that this embargo has finally ended.

Thought I'd give a few kudos to the Bell agent I spoke to this morning.

I was fooling around with the interactive TV feature on my 9242. I don't go in there too much so it was kind of neat to bum around in there. Anyways, in the Sports category was a list of various packages for Nascar, NFL, Sentana, etc. Noticed the NHL Centre Ice and another sports package were a different colour so I Selected it to see what would happen.

"Thank You. Your channel line up will change within the next 24 hours".

Oops. I expected at least an "Are you sure?" confirmation before buying any PPV. Anyways, I like hockey but not enough to watch it every night, price tag aside. My son's 5 and not into hockey yet anyway.

So I call up Bell this morning and spoke to a guy in the programming changes dept. Explained what happened and he was totally cool with cancelling it for me. He didn't see if on my account yet, but put a note on my account explaining what the deal was. He said I'll probably get billed for it though, but when I call in, it shouldn't be a problem to cancel.

Didn't try to upsell me and didn't wait on hold for a long time.
And he spoke perfect English.

Is Game Centre Live working for anyone? When I click on any of the games tonight all I get is a black screen. I registered using the code given to me by Bell, any ideas?

Thanks in advance

The Canucks have had one game shown on City this year as well, but Sportsnet was showing the game also. The same thing might happen this year as I don't see anything else on. I guess the Thursday NFL game, but most people have the other 3 channels to watch that on.

I notice the Free Preview until December 13th. Is this when the Mid-Season Price usually kicks in? If so, anyone find the mid-season price?

Sportsnet West HD (Channel 1408/849) did show the Oilers/Bruins game in HD, or at least an SD widescreen upconvert, which is what the quality of the game looked like. I would assume this was just SD widescreen on Sportsnet West on Bell today (guide did not list Oilers/Bruins until the 3rd period but the game was there from the start). The graphics in the second period especially were really hard to read and a little better in the third, though not much. Wasn't much color or detail for an HD broadcast which makes me think it was SD Widescreen. The Thrashers/Sens game which was widescreen looked better.
