This should suffice for the background:

The networks are giving in more to the lazy, whiny affiliates than to the rule itself. Seems as though the affiliates of ABC, CBS and NBC demand the network do their E/I work for them.

But then they want it both ways -- they want the E/I work done for them but then they want the right to slice-n-dice the lineup in a way that maximizes their ability to raise revenue with local newscasts and infomercials.

I still maintain that if the FCC rescinded the E/I rule today, ABC, CBS and NBC would bail tomorrow and the schedules would be kids-TV free this Saturday.

4Kids, for at least one season.

So, in essence, 4Kids will be competing against themselves next fall on two broadcast networks.

Isn't that cute . . . BUT IT'S WRONG!

Well, sorta.

4Kids TV usually starts the first or second week of September (in 2007 it was September 9th) while Kids' WB usually starts in the third or fourth week of September (in 2007, September 23rd).

So...maybe the transition will happen halfway through September, or so?

Yep... Saturday morning is as good as dead, and these greedy anus heads are to blame. The government had to interviene. now at least we have a lipservice line up. Best we're ever going to get.

Thanks rich snotball hacks that got the job because they're someone's kid.

Yep, Warner Bros. Animation produced the first season of Johnny Test (which owns the whole show, I think), and Cookie Jar did the second and third (current) season.

They'll probably move their major players to CW because it gets more affiliates currently but that could change I suppose.

It WOULD be smart to make one for girls and one for boys but 4kids already tried to best KWB for girls programing and while they did do that quite easily (as KWB pretty much ignored girl viewers and barely ran anything even close to girls programing) they decided not to continue targeting girls on Saturday mornings. It's clear that ABC has those viewers locked down.

And you know TMNT is getting a revamp for the Fall 2008-2009 season. I guess that might actually end up on CW instead of Fox. Especially if they keep up the Game Station gimick on Fox.

Well if the current KWB slate of WBA programs get seasons on this new block then we might actually get a good block out of this.

This isn't great but it's watchable.

07:00 - Winx Club
07:30 - Winx Club
08:00 - Tom and Jerry Tales Hour
09:00 - Shaggy and Scooby-Doo Get a Clue
09:30 - World of Quest - or a new 4kids series
10:00 - The Spectacular Spider-Man
10:30 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
11:00 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
11:30 - Legion of Super Heroes

While 4kidsTV might pick up Magi-Nation (fits their games concept) to include with Chaotic, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, Viva Pinata and other game related series.

You mean September 8th? Sept. 9 was a Sunday in 2007.

The new block, whatever it's going to be called, could debut anywhere from Sept. 7 to Sept. 21. I guess it will be Sept. 21.

Feh. And Playmates didn't finish off the Fast Forward line because they didn't think it was profitable. How many of these toys do they think they'll sell, anyway? I can see them being dumped off at Big Lots and Marshalls... then, months later, Dollar Tree.

sorry that was my first post and I kinda forgot about that, if it is a problem I can edit it.

Not trying to make waves here people just voicing my opinion.

 I'm extremely pissed off to hear that the CW is replacing Kids WB for 4KidsTV, because I wanted 4Kids as a company to either die or be gobbled up by FUNi/Navarre for all of the horrible sins they've committed. This could mean the death of the entire USA youth/family animation industry as a whole, since American TV will now mostly become E/I programming, preachingly religious programming, infomercials, live-action garbage and bowdlerized foreign programming.

I'm also astounded that 4Kids is taking over Kids WB on the CW instead of ABC Kids, a Disney-owned SatAm programming block, because I thought 4Kids officially ended their entire relationship with Time Warner when they pitched Chaotic to Jetix, another Disney-owned programming block. However, I'm still not going to rule out any possibilities of Disney gobbling up 4Kids in the near future!

And a hillarious send up of the classic Giant Monster Battle shows like Ultraman as well.

Now that that's out of the way...

They could probably just air the reruns. Probably. There may be some legal thing around that. A real shame, since they almost made Kirby a real success, but dropped the ball. F-Zero, however? That was just dull. There are clearly a million racing animes out there, all a million times better. They can blame 4kids all they want for that failure, but it was the substance of the show. I tried to get into it several times, and just pointed out, "Well, someone watches Robotech and Speed Racer"

Whoa. Wasn't expecting this.

I guess 4Kids isn't dead quite yet. They seem to be making a good profit off their block, so it makes sense that they'd try to expand.

But I do wonder what next year's lineup will be for the CW. The combination between 4Kids and Kids' WB! has yielded phenomenal results in the past, so it should be interesting to see how this turns out.

But, Eon Kid is the lowest rated on KWB. Since it isn't a 4K!DS production, they'll be less likely to pick it up. I second DrTooth's point

Plus was the Cubix toyline any successful, I doubt that.

4kids likes being independant so I don't think anyone is going to end up buying them any time soon and as for Chaotic on Jetix meaning anything... Batman, Superman and Pinky and the Brain are also on Jetix.

Though with family entertainment Warner has often sold series to Disney networks. It's just only recently that they started selling kids shows to them.

Can they still do series? Think about it, if they did, they'd have to release 3 or so episodes on volume disks. I guess that isn't a bad idea but I'm more into seeing a series before I just buy the DVD.
