Can i unlock it with Samsung R210 serial Service cable, or should it have to be a USB cable. Or 2G phones cable absolute wrong for this UMTS version?

What cable do i need i have a LG 3G cable but it does not let me change the imei for the handset i used the lg cable and used a screw driver to unlock fine but i cannot change the imei

What am i doing rong ?
