New York Times blasts the PS3.. O_O

wtf the music stops during games and you can't have a custom soundtrack? that's fuckin WEAK. one of the biggest things i like about the 360 is that once you start playing your own music it ONLY stops playing it at times when it needs to (which is pretty much just during in-game cut scenes)

GAY

It wouldn't be surprising if they did start to charge money becuase how much love xbox live is getting. Think of all the "free" services you used to get, that now you have to pay for. Once one company sees that they can charge for it, eventually they do.

It's not the first time that Gears has been mooted for PC of course. Back at E3 2005, when J Allard was still doing Xbox press, the console's evangelist-in-chief claimed Gears was "Xbox and PC" - a claim that Epic's Mark Rein then had to swat away a few weeks later.
"Could we, in the future, adapt Gears for Windows just as Microsoft did with Halo?" Rein said at the time. "Sure we could and, as you can see from J Allard's comments, Microsoft is clearly cool with that idea. But we're a long way off from thinking about that."

should have waited 6 months to a year. you know, when the price either comes down a bit or when they include the hi-def cables. oh, and when the games are visually better than what is currently on the market (and when there's more than like 3 exclusive titles worth playing). and when the online is better. and maybe they'll have done a software update so you can play your own music in games. etc. etc. etc. etc.

Sort of, except that Halo was originally developed as a game for Mac, then remade for Windows and ported to the XBOX (although they launched it on console first.)

Sounds like they are going to do the same thing with GoW as with Halo 2, wait until after Vista is released, then make Vista one of the system requirements.

And it's not like it would be hard for Epic to make it happen, the Unreal 3 engine was developed for UT2007, which is confirmed to be a DX10 PC game.

Its probably in the works already, seeing as how the scripting is essentially the same between PC and 360. And, Epic would definately make a bang more money if they did, seeing as how they'd only spend a couple months on recoding and possibly retooling the game.

not necessarily. my theory is that they'll start charging the software companies money to have their games be online-enabled, then the software companies will start charging the gamer a fee to play online. this is sony indirectly charging you for online play, but without them really breaking their word since the check you write out to play online won't say "sony" on it.

they are continually updating it you'll be able to watch movies through it in less than a week, and i'm sure they have other things in the works

Do I need to spell it out for you?

You spewed some random shit about XBOX live winning emmy's and did nothing more than try to make a point without supportng it.

Now that I think about it, you're not a fanboy, just a faggot troll.

Valid point.

If you buy 1 year cards on ebay it works out to about 8 cents a day.

If you dont think PS3 owners would GLADLY pay that, you are sadly mistaken. Hopefully online support improves, but a major reason I still play games is because its so easy to jump online and play. Wii at least has it's "party" type feel, rather than focusing on single player games.

Fanboys defend the system and say stuff that is just simply not true and they are generally uninformed. It seems like everything he says is true

I don't think Sony can afford to create a weak online system. While it just launched and isn't plagued by the lag issues that XBL had in the first couple of months, I'm sure there could be some things that could work better.

For instance, an online store that doesn't hurt my eyes? More product to sample, eg games and such. Start loading up movie trailers, etc. Sony owns MGM and is a part of the BMG music group. DO SOMETHING WITH IT!

I was probably pretty close to being a Sony fanboy, but the PS3 lost me. So, now I have the 360 and the Wii to tied me over. Both are fun in their own right. I may get the PS3, if they drop their prices in a few years and they prove to be different enough from the 360. Right now, it isn't. (Which everyone knew anyways)
