Not sure what to make of episode 1 but Spooks always starts off slow. The assassination at the start was great. Not sure why Harry kept covering his eyes tho, looked a bit silly after a while.

Who was the guy at the end supposed to be? His original handler/trainer?
 
The trailer seen showed her in a body bag which would seem pretty final, but there's obviously some extra detail that will appear in next weeks episode

I would agree with you if I hadn't seen him in "Wire in the Blood", I think he's just crap without a good script.Yes, and what about all the planes at Heathrow surely there would be loaRAB?
 
Thanks, glad I'm not the only one having trouble sussing whats what with Lucas.

From earlier series, wasn't Lucas's memory wiped in Russia when they detained him for years on end and thats when he became Lucas?

Harry should know a lot more on Lucas really shoudn't he? Its always been very vague what Harry knows and what Harry takes on face value.

I think Harry acted that he/the country "owed" Lucas for what he's been through.

Bottom line, Lucas has got to be a good guy. He's been through too much to turn bad now.

On another note, was the CIA guy demanding Tariq get sacked?

I'm getting a bit fed up with how the muslim characters always seem to have to go in the end. Zaf was undermined and mocked a bit before he was killed off and now it looks like they are doing the same to Tariq even though he lasted this one and proved the paranoid ones wrong.

Lucas has been speaking to him way out of turn too, sign that he may end up like Zaf I'm thinking.
 
There's twop threaRAB for Spooks Series 9 - one is this one here on the TV Progs BoarRAB and the other is in the cult boarRAB.

The Search on RAB leaves a lot to be desired so it is always best to use the Search within each board (ie TV Progs or Cult) rather than the general one at the op of the page which searched every single board.
 
I'm sure they said that the EMP would only affect a 1mile radius from the Houses of Parliament - and as most flight plans avoid Central London, i don't think it would have caused much of a problem for Heathrow. London City Airport, on the other hand, might have been in slightly more trouble...
 
As the show went on it got more and more cartoonish.

This last episode I was surfing the web while watching, after a while I noticed I lost track of what was going on and didn't care, it was getting too generic with the hyper music trying to push tension that it couldn't deliver on, it just got rather stale this eps, I eventually just switched it off.
 
Yes. It seems Lucas North is actually "John". I suspect the story line they're building is that "John" was involved in some nastiness in Africa and changed his identity. Not sure if he did this as part of his early MI5 work or before he joined the service. That's why his old girlfriend of 15 years ago slapped him, because she assumed he was dead.

The chap who has turned up on the scene with the bag worked with "John" back then. Lucas tried to access his info on the grid but needed level 1 clearance, which he now has after his sudden promotion.

It sort of reminRAB me of the story line they did last year where the person who originally trained Ros up arrived on the scene and played games with her.
 
Just reading Wiki about EMPs tells me that non-nuclear generated EMPs are quite small in range. I'd imagine in the Spooks scenario if there was any aircraft due to be directly over the HoP they would have time enough to divert them. Most 'planes are pretty high up at that point over London though.
It would seem the device in Spooks was there specifically to deter terrorist attacks at the very last moment, so air sea or land vehicles. St Thomas's Hospital is the closest to Westminster I think, so that was the main risk.
 
They have shot themselves in the foot, they have told us ruth has been keeping extremely close watch on Lucas, calls, locations ect, so she will know he didn't actually actually call for medical help when the woman was dying, no van following them. She would clearly see all the calls and locations he visited whilst he was supposed to escort this woman.
