You can't. As far as I'm aware, Marvel hasn't given two shits yet about making an origin story and decided to go for this marketing angle first where they go "HEY LOOK SPIDERMAN IS GOING TO BE A MINORTY!"
There's nothing inherently wrong with a minority spiderman. It's the way that they're going about marketing him that seems wrong.
And obviously a new hero wouldn't have the notoriety of an established hero. But that's Marvel's problem if they don't want to spend the time to develop and market a new hero instead of going about it this way and alienating many more fans who just feel that spiderman is and always should be Peter Parker.
Yea but that wasn't the selling point of the character.
Jonathan Stewart (green lantern) was also black. So is Black Panther. But the fact that they're minorities doesn't make up their character.
The way they're selling this new spiderman seems more like they're trying to normalize minorities in comics not because of great characters, but because hey, minority.
The Crazies wasn't a bad movie, sure it was pretty cliche and unoriginal but I thought it paid good homage to zorabie movies like Return of the Living Dead as well as the original Crazies, although it wasn't actually a zorabie movie.
