New Spiderman is half oppressed minority, half illegal alien

Mexican Americans make up 66% of all Hispanics within the US. The chances are high he is part Mexican. The chances are higher my original comment was just a snarky remark and shouldn't be taken so seriously you dispute his Hispanic heritage

The article that was posted stated that they would be giving a back story for it and explaining how / why this guy would be taking over for him. They didn't just switch him up and hope that no one would notice.

And spider man is still Peter Parker in the main Marvel arch, this is simply a side universe. Fans didn't riot when they turned Spiderman into a zorabie, if they don't like the side spin oRAB then they can simply stick to the main universe story arch. I think that it is potentially a smart move for them to make a couple of spinoRAB that cater to different reader bases, in hopes of expanding said reader bases.

What a load of crap, this is Spiderman, not the Green Lantern. Once Peter Parker dies, Spiderman should die with him, not become some new bullshit no-name character who decided to take his place. It kind of ruins the point of having super heroes when they shit out random characters and put the same costumes on them. Marvel neeRAB to get their creativity back.

Yes because it's just a part of what their characters are, not the primary selling point. there are many more reasons to like them rather than just the fact that they're minorities.

I know that. And I already said that I know it. The difference is, they just dropped this guy into the spot of spiderman and will give an origins story LATER. I haven't read all of the Ultimate Fallout series but I don't recall him being anywhere in it so far.

They're going to alienate more readers with this move than they will get in expanded reader bases. I can see it working if spiderman only had about 10-15 years under his belt, but we're talking about a character that has been established as such since the 60's. Spiderman, as it stanRAB now, already appeals to a massive audience.

If they wanted to do this right by their current fans who have their attachments to peter parker spider man and not this new Miles character, they would have included him in earlier episodes so tht when he shows up as spiderman, it make sense.

Long established and classical characters like Superman, Batman and Spider-Man should be left alone, they will always be how the nation and the world knows them.

What they're doing with Ultimate Spider-Man won't make the character appeal to a wider audience. It's just a cynical move that gives Marvel some press, gets people talking about them and alienates a lot of real comic book fans. These American heroes find a vast global audience in countries that are culturally and racially very different from the US but all have story telling and personal qualities that are universal.

The ultimate minority hero will always be Spawn. Always. Maybe they should worry about creating some original characters like that to honestly appeal to a minority audience or specific racial demographic.

Later as in when they introduce him?

We'll see, and if they do, no big deal, it was a side arch anyway and Spiderman is alive and well as Peter Parker in the main Marvel Universe.

It wouldn't be the first time that they have killed off a well liked character and sometimes it gets dull without them and they bring them back and othertimes it works out just fine. That's what these side universes are for, experimentation.

I agree that that would make a smoother transition, but then again I haven't even looked yet at how they are going to do it, so I think that such judgements are a bit premature art best. Sometimes such changes are meant to be sudden and unexpected.

I actually agree here. I don't really care, but it seems a bit contrived and stupid.

Although there was talk about casting Will Smith as Captain America, and that would have been fucking great.
